Report: Secret Service Opens Investigation into Kathy Griffin ‘Beheading’ Photo

Tony,
Can you find some of those effigies by Hollywood celebs?

George Bush assassination film wins top award
The video which outraged America by depicting the assassination of President George W Bush has won an award at the Toronto film festival.

BTW,that film bombed at the box office, not even making half its production budget because most democrats were disgusted by it.

Newmarket paid one million dollars for the U.S. distribution rights.[6] The total production budget for the film is estimated to have been two million dollars.[1] Two of the largest U.S. cinema chains, Regal Entertainment Group and Cinemark, refused to screen the film; a Cinemark spokesman told UK newspaper The Guardian: “The assassination of a sitting president is problematic subject matter”.[7] In addition, major U.S. broadcasters CNN and National Public Radio refused to broadcast advertisements for the film.[8] The film was screened in the U.S. for 14 days, showing at 143 theatres at its widest release.[1][2] Worldwide, it grossed $869,352.[2] The Japanese motion picture ethics committee, the Eirin, prevented Death of a President from being shown in most cinemas in 2007, saying that the film's Japanese title ("Bush Ansatsu", translated as "Bush Assassinated") is inappropriate.[9] The film was scheduled to begin showing in Japanese cinemas on 6 October 2007.

It's Kathy Griffin who's been cut off ... by CNN, because she was just fired by the network, which means she will not ring in 2018 with Anderson Cooper.

The network is reacting to the photo of Kathy holding a bloody, beheaded image of Donald Trump. Her apology clearly wasn't enough for CNN.

As we reported, Anderson Cooper also lashed out at his former co-host and friend, saying, "For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in. It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate."

Griffin did the New Year's Eve special since 2007.

Looks like she also lost her Squatty Potty deal. So sad.

Is Kathy Griffin's apology for the gruesome photo enough?

CNN announced Wednesday the network will be ending Kathy Griffin's hosting duties for its New Year's Eve program after the comedian's disturbing photo shoot with a bloodied Trump mask.

"CNN has terminated our agreement with Kathy Griffin to appear on our New Year's Eve program," the network announced Wednesday on Twitter.

CNN has terminated our agreement with Kathy Griffin to appear on our New Year's Eve program.

A spokesperson for the network called the photos "disgusting and offensive" on Tuesday.

For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in. It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate.

Griffin has co-hosted CNN's "New Year's Eve Live" with Anderson Cooper since 2007. Cooper criticized Griffin's actions as "disgusting."

"For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in. It is clearly disgusting and completely," Cooper wrote Tuesday on Twitter. Fellow anchor Jake Tapper also condemned the image.

Donald Trump Jr. called for the network to drop Griffin as a commentator shortly after the image went viral. "Dear CNN, I must have missed your statement banning your commentator #KathyGriffin from future shows. Please resend. Thx," he tweeted.

Both the president and first lady also called the photos "disturbing," Trump adding that the photo took a toll on his youngest son, Barron.

MELANIA TRUMP QUESTIONS KATHY GRIFFIN'S 'MENTAL HEALTH' AFTER BLOODIED MASK PHOTO SHOOT

Griffin received major backlash after a photo was published on Tuesday of her holding a bloodied mask that resembled President Donald Trump. She apologized for the photo shoot and YouTube video later, acknowledging she "went too far." However, by Wednesday morning, her attempt at a joke clearly fell flat among the public.

Squatty Potty, which designs bathroom products, announced Wednesday that its partnership with Griffin will also terminate, less than a month after it launched.

"We were shocked and disappointed to learn about the image Ms. Griffin shared today, it was deeply inappropriate and runs contrary to the core values our company stands for," CEO Bobby Edwards wrote in a statement sent to Fox News.

Waste of government resources and taxpayer money. Sure, it was a stupid stunt and without class, but to suggest she is thinking of killing the President is just foolish.

A comedian can get away with saying a lot. This was supported by the courts in the Larry Flynt case.

It's how people like Ann Coulter and Bill
Maher can get away with 1/2 the things they say that would be considered libel if it were in the New York Times.

The picture clearly had anti Islamic undertones. Probably why she got fired.
Good point, what Kathy should have done was shown Trump being lynched by a mob of KKK members who are unhappy because Trump is so racist that it makes the KKK look like girl scouts. The KKK hates being outdone. That would be OK. However, beheadings are very Islamophobic now. Muslims cause more decapitations than the first 3 Highlander films combined. If a head gets cut-off it does not take Sherlock Holmes to figure out that a Muslim is involved. CNN could not allow such Islamophobia to exist so Kathy had to go. Or maybe CNN finally figured out that she is an unfunny and unattractive redhead????

On New Year's eve, Kathy Griffin, along with Anderson Cooper, stayed sober enough to keep Don Lemon from getting his nipples pierced, live on-air.

Who is going to keep Don Lemon from getting his nipples pierced next year?

I had the impression Kathy was sensible, but now, i recognize her intent to incite hatred against the lawfully elected President of the U.S.

If enough hatred can be incited, it's more and more probable that a crazy lone wolf will take matters into his own hands, and either shoot, or behead the President.

I recognize that those stoking the flames of incitement pander to the lowest demographic denominator, first for eyeballs, then maybe a few laughs, and then, for action ranging from riots to assassination.

I actually heard this on tv, Trump must accept some responsibility because he didn't speak out against the violence during his campaign.
