I agree 100%, you make one mistake these days, and its game over if your a public figure, granted Griffin's mistake was pretty big but i still think its stupid to immmediately go for someones career, as if these sanctimonious A-holes leading the lynchmobs on twitter would like it if their biggest mistake was broadcast all over the internet for everyone to see.

Who among us can honestly say that if the stupidest thing we have ever said or done was broadcast all over t.v. that we wouldnt risk losing our job.

This is what concerns me with idiots like Nine Ender. You know that if he gets a hold of your personal data, he will do his best to harm your personal life.

If you want honesty, the only thing you can do now is to let people remain anonymous. You don't see a level of honesty from folks on Linkedin unless they are in a position where they can afford to speak their mind openly. Most of us aren't.

Yeah exactly thats why i like Elite, and sites chat sections like Disqus, there is no way in hell im posting political info on shit like facebook with people like that lurking, also for all you know they could find your ip addresss and hack your computer just to screw you over, people online develop sick obsessions with people they dont even know for some reason.

I don't even have a Facebook account precisely for this reason. I know some kook will eventually get it in his or her head that my viewpoint is racist or sexist or harmful, etc. and they'll immediately see me as an officer for my company, and then go off on the company because there's no possible way I could just be sharing my own opinion.

Yeah i only signed up for one in the past year cause i was sick of hearing friends and family members talk about something they posted on facebook, and asking me to check it out, but i only have like 50 friends all close people, and have no intention of adding randoms, i never post anything for exactly the same reason, My sister gets in fights with her inlaws all the time over facebook about politics, and im just like jesus why bother, but for some people they just live for drama wherever they can create it.

LOL, yeah i love seeing my sister argue about the economy as if she has a clue, she cant even balance her own cheque book, she doesnt even understand the argument most of the time, its just an excercise in futility, generally the dumber someone is the more sure of themselves they are.

Thats why i love this site, even if i dont agree with people, atleeast most people are coming here with some sort of grasp on economics, the rest of the internet its like talking to people who are illiterate.

That's one of my main beefs w/the left....they're like, "let's jack up the tax rate on capital gains to the bracket of those making those gains". Yeah, that's not going to end up in disaster.

I doubt the left is calling for Griffin's head right now (yes, pun intended). I try to give people a fair shake, and find out most disagreements are from lack of knowledge on one side. The divide will only get fixed if people are eager to learn, but the electorate would rather be driven by "feelings" than knowledge. Especially tricky now where you have to vet the knowledge providers too.

Fair enough but the problem is that this wasn't a case of some offhand shittalking remark being recorded and then published in an effort to embarrass you. Griffin is a professional entertainer who has used this sort of over the top attack before in a pathetic effort to gain attention. She bragged about how she and her photographer put it together. This would be her shining moment, the day she pissed all over Trump and that asshole Colbert. She would be the number one Trump basher. Only outside her bubble, when normal people saw it they were appalled and outraged. Oops.

In a perfect world people would not be ostracized for such antics or for their political beliefs. It isn't perfect however and they are, provided they are in the hated group of white, hetro, male, republican, Christian conservative. We have a right to demand that, if that is the game, the rules be applied equally to both sides.
