Man ive agreed with this side of the debate all the way up till here, but there is a pretty discriminate line here, there is no way I can convince my self a machine gun is necessary to stop a burgler..... i know thats what most liberals say, but its downright fucking dangerous to just spray bullets with a fully automatic the way those bump stocks work..... put it this way if you had a neighbor who was a gun nut would you want to know he had a mahine gun ready to fire the first time he got disturbed?

You keep going on about the need of these things. I agree with you. There is no need. I haven't said there is a need in...well, ever. I never said it. I'm saying that regardless of the need, you can't ban them because it won't happen no matter what you try to do.
It's not that you're banning something someone needs. It's that you can't ban it legally. Well, you can put a law in place but people will have them, be able to make them, etc. You might as well put a law in place that says the sun cannot rise.
These devices have been around a long time. This is the first time someone has employed one. It isn't because of lack of knowledge. It's because they don't tend to be conducive to aiming.
You are most likely right, the guns are already there, but this is now deeply troubling, there has to be a way to make it so the trigger cant bounce like that, i dont know, but this is he firs ive heard of this, im sure ISIS took note too, the next shooting like this is going to be fucking nuts. On Canadian facebook pages we are now learning what "bump firing" is, a term they had been wholely unaware of before this,

Who said the only thing a citizen would ever encounter is a burglar? Mobs are becoming quite common down here in the US. Violent mobs. And the left can say all day long about how you can't just start shooting at a violent mob, but when the bundys were holed up on some gov't property and not violent or threatening, those same fucked up leftists wanted the bundys to be blown away.
Again, "bump firing" has been around for a long time. It is new only to those who are not familiar with firearms. Trust me, ISIS knew about it a long time ago. When able, they have used AK47s that were already auto, and there was no need to convert them.
I'll also tell you that I can fire rounds pretty damned fast without this mechanism, just in semi-auto mode. The only restriction in speed has been trying to aim. But if aiming isn't a concern...

Shouldn't be using a long rifle with 223/308/556 caliber for home defense anyway. Should be using a shotgun, or a handgun with hollow tips. Anyone using an automatic rifle for home defense is insane.
