CNN Poll: 53% of Democrat Voters Want Someone Other Than Hillary

I don't know why Webb is polling so low, other than he is the most sane and rational of the group. Guess I answered my own question.

I don't think Webb's numbers have anything whatsoever to do with sanity, or rational thinking.
Who is he? There's your answer. In local elections people still use yard signs and tack flyers to telephone poles. That should tell us something about how important name recognition is. In many political races, especially at the local level, it is undoubtedly often the single most important factor in determining who wins an election. The candidates platform may be a key factor among those who read and follow various issues, but among the electorate name recognition may be No. 1! "Oh, Hello President Trump, nice to meet you. I have heard so much about you (but I don't remember what.) Welcome to our little Republic , President Trump."

We have somehow managed to combine the worst feature of a democracy into our minimally, democratic federal government. Quite an achievement, I would say!!!

Ask any one of the lefties here when the last time they voted for a republican candidate was. Let's see who is more independent and closer to the center.

(I am assuming ya'll have made me at least an honorary "lefty". zdreg is convinced I'm a communist so that alone should nullify any backsliding to the right tendencies. [ I probably have misled some of you more naive ones -- but I'll give a hint to those who didn't make it past the 9th grade. Not voting for the Republican candidate does not mean a person voted for the democrat.]

The truth is I am actually a Libertarian, and so far as I can tell, the only true Libertarian in these forums. The rest of you, that is those of you who keep insisting on calling yourselves Libertarians, are not, but something else entirely. We don't have a name for you yet, but we will! I do rather resent the fact that you who are bordering on anarchy and calling yourselves "Libertarians" have corrupted the label so. Some of you are probably close to Ayn Rand Objectivists, but you certainly are NOT Libertarians.

yeah it's funny, a lot of us old judeo christians had this thing about "make no graven image" and it always kind of gave me the creeps when I would see on the news all these big pictures of candidates and prime ministers, until I realized, they need pictures because a majority of the population is illiterate.

Now please explain to me why a libertarian would vote a straight democrat ticket?

Some say the definition of a libertarian is written on some plank or platform or website. Why do they get to decide? I say if a guy votes a straight libertarian ticket, whatever he is, that is what a libertarian is.

Yes, indeed. She has served our country admirably and should be commended for her great work as Secretary of State. She has excelled in every position she has ever held and I'm certain she is ready for the next challenge.
