I don't think Webb's numbers have anything whatsoever to do with sanity, or rational thinking.I don't know why Webb is polling so low, other than he is the most sane and rational of the group. Guess I answered my own question.
Who is he? There's your answer. In local elections people still use yard signs and tack flyers to telephone poles. That should tell us something about how important name recognition is. In many political races, especially at the local level, it is undoubtedly often the single most important factor in determining who wins an election. The candidates platform may be a key factor among those who read and follow various issues, but among the electorate name recognition may be No. 1! "Oh, Hello President Trump, nice to meet you. I have heard so much about you (but I don't remember what.) Welcome to our little Republic , President Trump."
We have somehow managed to combine the worst feature of a democracy into our minimally, democratic federal government. Quite an achievement, I would say!!!
