Maine has 4 electoral college votes and a part of Maine was hospitable to Trump's populism. Maine has been solidly Democrat since Reagan's win probably. Achieving the split in the college there for the first time because of a quirk in Maine's laws where it can be split unlike the other 48 states (there is that other similar state) is cute but was it Trump's idea?
I should say, I get the idea, Trump's being the underdog put in more effort. Just I don't see the Maine thing as some genius move.
