Trumps approval rating would be even lower if he were taking care of business even more.

Best way to keep your approval rating up is to just look the other way and kick the can down the road.

Barry left with the an extremely high approval rating. Left immigration, fixing Obamacare, collapse of law and order on the dem plantation, collapse of the democratic party, and refugee terrorism issues for Hillary to deal with. That was the plan anyway.

One of the socialist idiots on the left may very well go third party and is crazy enough to do it and the lefties are crazy enough to vote for him. Thus diluting the "dem" vote. At a minimum, he will disable the dnc because his supporters will donate directly to him this time. Zero chance they will donate to the dnc thinking that Bernie will get his cut. This scenario could take the form of Son of Bernie if Bernies is considered to be too old. Such as Keith Ellison running with Bernie's support and with Bernie banging the single payer drum.

Note that the DNC and the duds that it produces are largely hated among the progressive wing of the dem party. The drama of Donna Brazile may add to that this week because she is hawking her book, but things went sour long ago.

I place Trump's odds of running again in 2020 as less than 50-50. He likes to put feathers in his cap and make big splashes and being president once will do that for him and there is nothing in it for him for a second term. And he sees Pence- sort of like he does Gorsach- as being a creature he produced and as part of his legacy and to see Pence elected would not be refudiation (as Sarah Palin would say) of his first term or legacy but an affirmation of it and a continuation of it.
