Its hard when folks don't agree with you all the time, isn't it, UN? Sometimes that happens. And you know what? Tony does an awesome job of making coherent arguments and not getting all pissy or snarky when people don't agree. You could learn a bit from him.

Most criminals avoid taking unnecessary risk.Even if a criminal plans on killing someone why take the unnecessary risk of multiple years in prison adding a gun smuggling charge for no reason?,especially when you could sell your gun in Mexico and easily buy it 2-3xs cheaper in The US .

The source for The Vice article was a professional gun smuggler who smuggled guns from The US to Mexico for a living until he got caught.Mexico has strict gun laws so criminals have to smuggle them in from The US,which of course brings up the price to buy them in Mexico.

I think you're giving a little too much credit to the "strategic planning of criminals". If the bad guy already has a gun, he's going to bring it with him if he believes he's not going to get caught crossing. Like the same way they bring drugs across - because they can, and do, get away with it.

Well he was stupid enough to be shooting an AR in his front yard and kill 5 people so its definitely possible.

Entirely my point. Criminals aren't known to be deep thinkers - at least not the garden variety lunatics. The ones that are more strategic usually don't get caught for a long while, sometimes never at all.

But I do agree with the ease of getting a gun in the United States. So lets move on to "how do we fix it"?
