Again,states are are horrendous at enforcing gun laws which is why it needs to be handled at the federal level.State gun laws are mostly useless imo.Even states that have universal background checks,23 of them IIRC, doesn't stop a criminal from buying a gun from a state next door that doesn't.Federal prosecutors also enforce the law much better than overworked understaffed local DA's.

Of course we can. The problem is the NRA. Prior to the 1970s the NRA as an organization supported regulations and limitations on guns. They were more of a sporting and hunting organization than a self defense organization. That all changed when the gun manufacturers took over the organization in the Cincinnati Revolt. Now the nra is a shill for gun manufacturers. They manipulate people into thinking more guns, and bigger more dangerous guns actually make America safer. Oh and no regulations either.

So idiots spout this nra nonsense because they are just drones. Given a script they just mindlessly follow. So we are stuck with guns everywhere because of a marketing campaign based off of a culture war that appeals to people fears.

Most republicans are,but GOP Congressman put The NRA,Gun manufacturers etc above republican voters.They know as long as they keep white replacement theory,Hunter Biden,the culture wars etc on Fox News and conservative media republicans will still vote for them while our kids are slaughtered in their classrooms,they increase deficits from a 200 billion dollar surplus to a 1.2 trillion dollar deficit and a 600 billion dollar deficit to a 2.7 trillion dollar deficit,destroy the environment,give trillions to the rich etc.
