I still think Iraq had wmds...had we gone in and gotten the WMDs which are probably being used in syria right now...
Our own people, who had been in Iraq since '91, *screamed* that there were no WMDs.

The move to invade was not triggered by any threat of WMDs, but by idiot Saddam's intransigence: he refused to kiss Cheney's ass in a timely manner. No lie. (And why should he? He knew there were no missles; he knew *Cheney* (and Rumsfeld, and Powell) knew there were no missles; he knew it was all a charade, but unlike the US hawks, he knew that if he puckered up to Cheney/Bush, that his internal opposition would have his head inside of 6 months.
He screwed himself, and the entire Middle East, when he palled up to US/Cheney 10 years before, and then invaded Kuwait. Idiot. One can only wonder if he'd known of the scale of Iraqi reserves that are known now, what he would've done. Iddddd-diot.
WOW. Stuff I didn't know/recall:
"Bill Clinton said, "This proves the Iraqis are not cooperating," and he ordered the inspectors out. But you know the United States government ordered the inspectors to withdraw from the modalities without conferring with the Security Council. It took Iraqis by surprise. Iraqis were saying, "We're playing by the rules, why aren't you? If you're not going play by the rules, then it's a game that we don't want to participate in." Bill Clinton ordered the inspectors out. Saddam didn't kick them out.
