Trump attorneys' letter to Mueller spells out legal arguments against Trump sitting down for intervi

Trump would never attempt to pardon himself, if the event he needed to, because that would be a conflict of interest. As we all know, attorneys, judges, and politicians always work tirelessly to avoid actual or perceivable conflicts of interest when potentially being involved in a case or decision. Also the prevailing mantra seems to be “Let there be no hypocracy”.

Sarcasm alert for the above statements.

Ultimately, the people will pardon Trump at the polls if it is perceived that he was unjustly treated or if they consider the investigation to be a politically motivated sham. Just like what happened with Bill Clinton. As I understand it, impeaching Trump is one thing, but removing him from office is quite another.

The midterms will be another election swayed by the FBI/DOJ/Mueller. Sadly that is what our "independent DOJ does these days. Mueller wont be able to get Trump on the underlying crimes that set the appointment in motion. But he will be able unload all his stuff on to the next incoming congress and set them up to their little impeachment dance. So he can do that and get away with it. Except the Senate will probably still be with the Repubs and they are going why Mueller had to back off the indictment/ prosecution if he had the evidence. Let em work it out on the playground.

I think the development in the last couple weeks is that Camp Trump is signaling that it is going to go full legal and go down hard. The bit about Trump pardoning himself is over the top and is battle cry stuff but it is a signal that they are going to start working from the tip of the legal spear, wherever that might be- rather than dicking around with interview dances.

Good. Mueller can always keep it peaceful by just filing to convene a grand jury and then proceeding to prosecution and see what happens next. When you are being threatened by the government or anyone else legally- you try to work it out- but at a certain point if they have a gun to your head, you need to force them to either pull the trigger or take it down unless you want to live as a broken pussy just waiting for their latest threat. Somehow, I dont think that is for Trump. Forcing them, may be just requiring them to do whatever they are going to do and stop harassing you with various settlement schemes and attempts to punish your family and associates.

I am all for it.

And then what is Mueller's next move after Trump appears and then pleads the fifth and executive privilege before an interview with mueller or before a grand jury?

I think the real question is what does the congress do after if Trump pleads the fifth.

Unless one is a binary thinker there can be more than one question.

And if the dems take the house, we know what they want to do and have always wanted to do if Trump were ever elected so let's not waste a lot of analysis and conjecture on what their reasoning might be. The reasoning is: Trump won.

Trump’s fifth amendment fallout would not stop at just a democratic house. By taking the fifth, Trump will be effectively pleading guilty and the public fallout and erosion would be enormous.

You are just backing into the reasoning as all dems are. The goal is to impeach Trump and then back into some reasoning as to why that needs to be done. Whether he pleads the fifth or not does not matter. You will just move on to the next rationale.

Also, even though you and your ilk do not want to hear it, Trump is actually making major progress- with the help of the IG and investigative reporters- in regard to exposing Mueller's actions - which were set in motion by a corrupt Obama intel network- as a witch hunt. At some point, he may/will just declare "game over- I am not participating in anything/anymore, do what you have to do." And if he pleads the fifth and executive privilege as part of following through with that- don't be surprised if lots of people understand that and dont assume that he is guilty just because he does not walk into a trap. But then as discussed. The next move will be for Mueller, and people will be asking him to put on his case - because he must have a case even without trump's testimony, right? So let's see how that little fiasco works out too. The question then becomes "why are we impeaching someone on charges when the government can't even put on a case? Oh, I see, because just pleading the fifth in a witch hunt is an impeachable offense? Sure, okay, better make sure you win the senate for that type of argument.

And apparently you missed the substantial earlier discussion about how/whether Mueller can even get him into a position where he would have to plead the fifth without indicting him or attempting to indict him. Easy for you to do, not so easy for Mueller. Mueller's easy days are behind him unless he wants to just stick with picking off side players on bullshit charges. The pussy can't do the big kill. How many times have I had to point this out.
