Trump attorneys' letter to Mueller spells out legal arguments against Trump sitting down for intervi

Mueller has already put out multiple indictments, guilty pleas and cooperating witnesses and is way ahead of other special prosecutors at this point of a Presidential investigation..:)

Heh, hasn't even interviewed the main target of the investigation in over a year on the job. How "way ahead" is that? Maybe Trump has not agreed to do an interview with Mueller but that is Mueller's job to advance the case on his evidence - it is not Trumps job to give him an opportunity to manufacture a perjury crime.

Paul Manafort tax crimes. Bunch of perjury stuff that occurred after the election. Yeh. Witch hunt because he can't make the big kill. Now you seem to be whining because Trump wont help him out.

And yes, witch hunts take time if you can't make the kill on the main charge. That's what makes them a witch hunt. Clinton was charged on lying about Monica but he never even met Monica until 18 months after Ken Starr was appointed. He just hung around and churned the pot until he could create a crime. Witch-hunt.

That report can't be too good if they are re-questioning Comey right before it's planned release date. That's my impression.

It can't be good for McCabe. Comey was interviewed by the IG in regard to all the general shenanigans in the agency. Then he was just interviewed again in regard to the possible charging of McCabe or vice versa in regard to the investigation of Comey.

The FBI knows that one of them is lying on the subject of leaking to the press so they are cannabalizing each other. Comey testified to congress that he did not approve the leaking of any investigative material to the press. But McCabe defends against the accusations that he unlawfully leaked by absolutely standing by his statement that Comey knew about it and approved it. Getting to be unpretty and only going to get worse.

This seems to be complicated for you.

His supporters can want it all to end by Mueller just stopping the witch hunt. But if he wants to go full legal then they can also be in favor of just saying the hell with Mueller, it is not Trumps job to help accelerate his case and it may drag on for years- and meuller knows full well from many of his other cases that he can lose on appeal bigly based on the way he operates.

No conflict in those two positions whatsoever just because you cannot process it.

You will say you dont remember but others will recall that I have said many times from the get-go on this that Mueller and Weisman have a long, long history of being big swinging dicks - kicking doors in and all of that - but a lot of their fun ends when some defendant shows up with a full legal team- as trump has done and as one of the indicted russian/company has done. Starts getting thorny from there. The Russian defendant is demaning a speedy trial and telling meuller to just what he has to do but lets get going. Same position with Trump. Mueller can make offers and review counteroffers etc, but otherwise just do what you have to do. Mueller is the big ballbusting witchhunt who does scary things so why are we going back and forth about what Trump will and will not do. Go for it Mueller. You either win or end out demonstrating to the world that you dont have the goods.

Let me give you a clue, since you are clueless. Mueller does not want Trump to put him in a position where he has to put on a trial and either win or be humiliated on the obstruction or collusion charges. He knows how that will end. So he wants to create a perjury charge. We know that. Mueller knows that. Then he wants to put together a shit-package of allegations which he can't prove in court and hand it over to potentially a dem congress to do their impeachment dance. That's how he wants to get out of this by saving face. The last thing he wants is for a defendant to take him to trial. Especially if he was not given a chance to create a perjury crime and has to prove the collusion/obstruction thing. You may not know the implications of starting down the road to indictment just to scare Trump but Mueller knows how that could blow up on him. Just as happened with one of the russian defendants. Suddenly Mueller is confronted with someone asking the court to enforce their right to a speedy trial and telling the government to be ready in a month and to cut the shit.

Although with Trump being the President it would not go to speedy trial, the opposite would happen. It would trigger a dozen constitutional issues that would be on appeal for years. Which is another way of sidelining Mueller and getting him derailed and out of his face.

Go for it.
Damn. Great post.

You and your God are not on the same page unfortunately

Sorry Dotard,Treefrog says it should drag on :(

Tony, keepin' it real here...you got owned on this thread. You really did. TFT has nailed it.

How long did it take Clinton or Nixon to be interviewed?

In regard to Clinton, I explained that above.

It took Ken Starr a very long time to interview Clinton on the only issue where Clinton was charged- related to lying to Monica- because Clinton did not even meet Monica or have his little interludes with her until 18 months after Starr was appointed- Starr having come up blank on any of the original allegations related to Whitewater.

You keep making the point that a witch hunter needs to be given a lot of time to find a real crime. We got that. That's why it is called a witch hunt.

Ok than.

And Nixon?

I see. Your statement did not work out for you based on the reply I gave about Clinton so I am now supposed to research the timeline of when or if Nixon was actually interviewed by the special counsel. Sorry, you do that since you used it as an example and let us know.

Not sure what difference it makes anyway. Nixon's case started as a burglary investigation- not a witch-hunt- and each step along the way implicated the president more and more and the pile of the crimes and convictions at the end were directly related to either crime or the cover-up- not someone's taxes from ten years ago or a deutchbank loan for condo's.

Whereas Mueller is adrift and can't close the deal or advance a case against trump on obstruction or collusion- and you are beginning to whine increasingly about Trump not playing the game properly by sitting for an interview and helping the witch-hunter out. Not his job. Nixon resisted but the evidence of crime kept getting stronger and stronger based on the work the special prosecutor and the house committees were doing. That's meullers job too. So do it. Oh, that's right. The committees have done that and he has been doing it for over a year. If you want to make the case that a year has gone by and now the case for obstruction and collusion has just gotten stronger and stronger, then mueller is all set. Do the deed and we will see when the conviction or resignation takes place- or not.

So you claimed Mueller is slow interviewing trump but Nixon nor Clinton were interviewed any faster, got it.
