The Fine Tuning of the Universe

Opinions, they do vary. What if we're talking about the same thing? In the vastness of empty space where there was nothing but time, something can to be. Cause why? We don't know. Men of science and theology alike call this the "uncaused cause". At some point all must take this position regardless of their belief, science or otherwise. What if, over the span of eons that no man alive can imagine or relate to, this something became self aware? Take the position that given enough time anything is possible. This thing began to create? Why? Again, why not? There doesn't need to be a reason, sensible or not. Does this thing need to be worshipped? No, not at all, but one can easily understand how a frightened an ignorant creature would do so. Why does this worship continue today? It's painfully obvious that while we advance by leaps and bounds technologically, we are barely out of the cave socially. So we worship unnecessarily, but a humble man might see fit to give thanks to a creator, which isn't a bad thing. A humble man seek guidance from something which can create such a thing as life. A humble may show gratitude for being given the opportunity to be among the living. A humble man may pray for strength and acceptance to understand that which he is not able to understand or accept. None of this activity is worship.
Does this thing have an actual interest in what it creates? Doesn't need to, but then again it might. Is there a bigger plan that we can now comprehend? Doesn't need to, but then again, why not?
All it takes to open your mind to the possibilities is to get past your previous prejudices, misconceptions and conflict with some zealots in organized religion and those activist atheists. Then and only then can you open your mind to what might be without regard for the need to be "right".
I really like that one. Pretty much sums me up. Ok, I don't "worship" in the form of church or religious icons, but every time I think I have it figured out He touches me, they even wrote a song about it, and I get humbled right away. It started when I was a kid during a very powerful thunderstorm.

not really sure why us believers have to help along the astrophysically challenged athiests, but I suppose God would want us to

I am not a believer in any God, but it is very obvious that science has no idea at all about this matter.
Impossible it happened by blind chance and explosive mixing of elements.

Tyson says that it might have always been.
Yes he does, and he also says there might be an uncaused cause. In other words, he's admitting he doesn't really know for sure, which is fine. It's more than fine, it's absolutely necessary to have an open and honest debate on this particular subject. We must all admit that at this point and time there are no where near enough facts for anyone to be absolutely certain about creation. We can suppose something happened. That much is self evident. We can study the timeline and how things evolved. We can draw some intelligent conclusions about evolution as it happened on this planet. But why, we don't yet know why. Does there have to be an answer to why? No there does not, but the curious mind must ask the question.

that's why I have very little regard for the atheists.
They are stuck in the superstition of their church and the past
and can't seem to embrace modern science

dang Captain, you really know your shit on this subject

talking to an atheist is like talking to a child. All you can tell them is He is some big man in the sky who bowls on rainy nights. Because their mind is so small that's all they can comprehend.

please explain to me, what's the difference between a climate denier and a God denier?

I don't know what the difference is, but I know what the similarities are

both of them are afraid of the implications and they don't need science to help them make up their mind
