Special counsel is investigating President Trump for obstruction of justice, new report says

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...oining-special-counsel-mueller-s-team-n778791

Consider this: Many of the best prosecutors in the country are joining Mueller's team. These people are public servants and yes, they believe in the justice system, but every single one of them also has to think about managing their careers. If this prosecution were going nowhere, I don't think these people would be leaving prestigious, high-profile posts to sign up. I think many people around Trump will go down, some will go to jail, and Trump himself will be forced from office. They may not get him on collusion but I think there's some very shady stuff involving Russian money in his finances; and I think they have him on obstruction.

I see. They are coming in with a definite need to find something on Trump in order to make their careers work. So much for an independent investigation.

Thanks for confirming that its a witch-hunt.

LOL, do you EVER read the articles?

"He's known for multiple successful prosecutions of New York lawmakers on corruption charges. He's also highly regarded in the Southern District and across Justice for those prosecutions, his thoroughness in investigations, and high level of success."

His career wasn't working? What? LOL

Apparently you are the one who cannot read. At no point did I say anyone's career is not or was not working. I merely presented a quote in a post from you that said that even though "they were successful public servants, they needed to think about managing their careers" implying and flat out saying they needed to produce results against trump. You certainly did not frame it as "they needed to do a fair and independent investigation even if it resulted in no prosecution.

Don't be a dunce. You seem overly eager to find something to be right about- apparently it has been a long time for you.

But feel free to go ahead and post where I said mueller - or some person you think i was referring to based on the voices in your Rice Krispies- career was not working. You can do that right? You are the one who said that "they needed to manage their careers." Is that different than saying that they needed to continue to make their careers work if they went with the special prosecutor. Only if you are being anal for personal reasons.

Right

They are coming in with a definite need to find something on Trump in order to make their careers work.

So if their careers were already working (which it is), why would they need this to make their career work? I made the point that if this whole investigation was failing because of lack of evidence which you guys keep singing then so many successful prosecutors won't be joining it - just like how many law firms refused to represent Donald Trump

That's bullshit - no matter if you are a janitor or a prostitute - you need to produce results in EVERY field, why the fuck is this some special case.

Except I didn't say that their careers were not working or they need this to make it work. Yes, it's different from the point I was making, I get anal when people represent my point of view.

Right

Wow, a truly less-than-smart comment.

I said: "You certainly did not frame it as "they needed to do a fair and independent investigation even if it resulted in no prosecution."

Mueller was not appointed to prosecute even though the fake news promotes that narrative. He was appointed as "special counselor" to conduct a probe to see what went on related to the Russians. Not only trumps involvement, his campaign, obama actions and inactions, and russian interference that may not have involved trump, obama, or anyone else known to date In others words to find out what happened- not to just go in there and find something to prosecute Trump for.

A high integrity non-political hack special counsel understands that a finding that someone did not do something, or did not rise to a crime or that something did or did not occur IS PRODUCING RESULTS where it is appropriate. This of course does not match your binary view which says "if special counsel - then prosecution required for results."

Of course you are saying outloud what the dem narrative is even though they put more effort into hiding it. This is not about investigating the russian connections or russian hacking. It is about finding anything that will allow you to prosecute trump. To do otherwise, would not be producing results as you put it. Nice. That's called a witch-hunt.

Susan Rice appearance and testimony coming right up. Hopefully, we can get enough on her to "produce results." I mean the committee should not be wasting their time trying to investigate, because if they found nothing that would not be an acceptable result, right? We pay them to produce. giggle.

Because that's given, Mueller is not the sort of guy who goes on 'witch-hunts', he is a Republican who served President's in both parties and nobody has a bad thing to say about him.

Mueller was appointed because Trump fired the previous guy investigating it because he was feeling pressured - he said so on TV. Trump acted guilty, don't blame media for reporting it.

Nobody is saying that any results are required, what I pointed out that when a prosecutor hires so many big guns and these big guns readily join the team, then there must be enough evidence for them to leave their current assignments.

And the 'dem' narrative is the truth here, you don't want to see it because your guy is the one who could go down. Also, a narrative doesn't make it a witch hunt, the media and Dem could call it anything they want, unless the prosecutors are not being fair, your characterization is nothing but pre-emptive defense to save face when Trump do gets charged.

.

"Nobody has a bad thing to say about him." Yeh, especially his protege, James Comey. No one anywhere denies that Comey and Mueller are joined at the hip and have a mentor/protege relationship for a long time by their own admission. And Comey was canned and humilated by Trump and both Mueller and Comey want Trump to take a beating to help restore Comey's name and legacy.

Note that the independent counsel act and the statement of professional ethics in the justice department specifically state that an independent counsel and/or a prosecutor is specifically prohibted from service in a case where they have a personal or professional conflict of interest with any of the witnesses. Thus Mueller is inherently disqualified.

Let us not forget that not long ago everyone was assuring us that James Comey walked on water, was above reproach, would never play politics, and nobody had a bad thing to say about him. Howd that work out? He is scumbag, political hack. Don't just listen to me. Listen to Hillary.

Too bad, Trump's own DOJ appointed the guy and is calling him impartial, Dems or the media didn't force Trump's DOJ to appoint the guy

Except when did he become a political hack? When did Hillary say he is a political hack? Quotes please.
