The problem with the socialists here is that they think that "just because" Ayn Rand lived under a communist regime, her visions towards socialism are "too radical". So it is only logical to conclude that they would think the same thing about you too... After all, they are the intellectuals that read and "really understand" Marx...:banghead::D

i think people confusing socialism with communism and socialism with social democracies (what is now Europe in fact)

So, from your point of view, what are/were the significant countries which would you list as socialist and as communist?

if we talking about socialism and communism as defined by Marx in politico-economic terms then not a single country on earth was/is a communist country even though quite many were ruled by communists

as for socialist countries - all of the countries of soviet block, as well as china, etc were mostly pure socialists countries

right now it probably North Korea is a pure socialist country

i am not sure about cuba, venezuella, etc how pure socialist are they

Well, all the countries you list by name sound to me like they are / were shit-holes.

I am lucky enough to live in a social democracy / constitutional monarchy, so am pretty much free to say this.

absolutely,

but the socialism is not dead ist creeping on your country and all over the world

it just modified itself after it became clear that Marx's ideas are bankrupt

the main goal is still redistribution , but in different ways

now socialists mostly try to avoid the government's ownership of the means of production with dictatorship of the proletariat, rather they try redistribution thru the means of taxation and government control (not ownership) of the key industries

I would describe China as a 1 party capitalist country.
They are beating the USA at their own game.
In a sulk Trump is refusing to play ball anymore.
Instead of getting competitive Trump is putting up tariff walls.

China seems another example of an arc progressing from feudalism towards capitalist social democracy. Unfortunately they had to go through communism with a communist party dictatorship along the way, and millions paid the ultimate price for that mistake.

My thoughts:

1. Nearly all countries nowadays are mixed-economy models. No reason not to do so! Even North Korea included sooner or later. imo

2. Both the US, EU and New China are actually still experiments, considering their length of relatively young history. EU could be theoretically a better model for the future, highly possibly. Since the Northern European countries are already quiet good, I think.

3. Trump just helped to expose some fundamentally weak aspects of the US model/system.

4. Developing mass destruction instruments can be easy, even North Korea can do it. The US and Russia, both basically Christian countries including their political leaders, just love to do it - more powerful mass destruction tools. Mass peace seems nobody's business.

5. Replacing whatever conventional faiths and religious matters/traditions by learning more on practical philosophy (like Stoicism: God is Nature, and Nature is God!) and various sciences could make become a better and peaceful world. That could be truly Jesus' spirit! afaik

You make a lot of good points OT.
Number 4 is worrying. The preludes to WW1 and WW2 was a big weapons build up. Just like now.
If our world leaders had some common sense hey would argue in favour of reducing the weapon stockpiles.
Even here in the UK Mrs. May is vastly overspending by buying 4 Trident submarines while all aspects of public life are short of money.
Sheer lunacy buying bigger bombs etc.
