You are a Singaporean dissident?:D

Way off the mark.

---- Soviet Union was communist in that money had no value and you couldn't buy/sell items. Everything was license based and licenses were offered for 'special favors' - car license etc.---

i was born and raised in USSR. it wasn't exactly like that.

here we go again

if you want your child to be an employee, send them to college

they take young entrepreneurs and teach them how to become employees

and when they can't get jobs it's the governmennt's fault

for crying out loud, it's no longer for the fed to monitor money supply and watch out for inflation, now they have to get my kid a job

the elites in the University don't understand business, the only way they know to make money is get a job or take it from business owner

Typical Das Kapital

They know what to do with it after it has been made, but they don't know how to make it

Macy's made the news this week on better than expected earnings

He started with a wheelbarrow on the sidewalk

Therefore communism does not exist in 2013.

I dont know if any country where there is pure communism. Cuba would be the closest.

Many people on here hate the system that is common in most countries in western europe, however if any of these traders here actually lived in any country in Western Europe, they would have a lot more of their profits in their account at the end of the year. Plus they would pay about 100 bucks a month for great health care insurance, and their kids would be able to attend some of the best universities in the world for about the cost of 1 days work scalping the NQ.

great insurance like in the UK? people talk lots of nonsenses on this board.

that is the excuse communists use for the failure of communism. it has never been tried properly.

that is wonderful. than because of governmemt mishandling of the economy you are forced to leave your country in order to survive or perhaps you didn't read the articles posted on this thread.

if the US congress had any sense they would welcome these well educated people to immigrate to the US.

I really have no idea what this is supposed to mean? The problem is that nobody cares to investigate anything at all? Jesus christ some people only believe what they want. I never said anything about the UK, I also never said that the public options in europe were great systems of health care. You want great private health care? with no deductable? no copays? no fee for MRIs? here u go

https://www.axappphealthcare.co.uk/international-health-insurance/

Select the lowest cost plan, which by the way is heaps better then anything the US has ever had. all for around 100 euros a month, even less if you want to have a modest deductable for 500 euros.

This plan is PRIVATE, which means you have nothing to do with the crappy public health care system. this plan covers you in ANY country but the USA. IF I could get this coverage here in the states, I would gladly pay for it, as would many employers, and individuals.

my famous quote "don't tell me it can't be done"!

Not sure about the UK, in most of EU, people at least get half decent insurance even if they are broke. The 100bucks a head part is usually not true as many (all ?) EU governments impose to their residents a small number of policies, which cost is largely dependent on one's income. I get cheaper and I feel better insurance as an expat overseas than in my country of origin for instance. If one is unemployed it should be the contrary.

Southern europe is in a league of its own in Western Europe in matter of economic crisis, I'd agree with the poster you quoted that overall life is far from horrible in western europe. Madrid is still one of my favourite cities although the situation seem uglier than it was 5 years ago for a whole bunch of spaniards. One needs to remember it was ruled by Franco until 1975 and closer to the thirld world than to northern europe at his death - according to what I'm told at least.
Education in continental Europe is definetaly much more affordable than in the US and apparently also the UK

"if the US congress had any sense they would welcome these well educated people to immigrate to the US. "

Indeed, it seems that Canada is adopting more sensible immigration policies than the US

A big variety of systems is great.
If you prefer one to another then live there. If they will let you in.
Language can be a bit of a problem though.
So this is a good argument to let people choose where to live. But what to do with the hordes of people fleeing civil wars etc. ? Now that is a major problem.

you already have ethnic wars in whole EU.

this will get real ugly soon.

No where America is going to do better where the situation has become more worse in US than in Europe. Atleast there is a hope in Europe that this recession era will come to an end in the next four year with complete stability but for US, situation is different completely and even if they recover now there is not guarantee that they will stabilize and will drop into recession in the next 10-12 years.
