There are 3 requirements to being a Christian:
a. Believing that Jesus is Divine, descended and incarnated into flesh, died on the cross for our sins, rose from the dead and then re-ascended to heaven.
b. Sincere deep heart felt repentance.
c. Loving Jesus = learning and following Jesus's teachings (as best you can).
I've said before there is no such thing as a christian. The main reason for that is because of the vagueness of the requirements. These are
your requirements, but probably not the requirements of so many others who self-identify as christian. I'm using a small "c" because in my opinion, you are not honoring Christ (nor even the accomplishments of Jesus), and so, don't deserve the appellation.
a. believing...
First of all, believing - faith - is a sin. It is near the core of the primary sin complex. Faith is in opposition to knowledge (faith and knowledge are opposites, antithetical, and unable to coexist). Christ is knowledge, all knowledge, total knowledge, and
nothing but knowledge. As a believer, you know nothing. As a knower, you believe nothing. There is no way you can know that Christ died, for any length of time, for example. As soon as you enter the realm of believing, you can be led astray as if you had a ring in your nose tied to a string that is being pulled by an entity that you cannot see, which usually ends up being a small cadre of priests who made a declaration in a small, smoke filled back room. The blind leading the blind. Oh, and just because those priests wrote down, on parchment, or sheepskin, their declaration, does not make it more true.
b. repentance...
For what? This too is vague. You can feel bad for a lot of reasons, none of which may be the main reason you find yourself in hell right now. If you deny that you are experiencing hell, right now, then you haven't sufficiently appraised the circumstances of your situation, and so, your brand of repentance will not yield the solution.
