Catholicism is not Christianity

I spent two years as a bible centric "christian" and ten years as a catholic (with a capital C, haha). I can tell you, one is not better than the other, and both arrive at the same destination, back here, in hell. While bible centric christians, and authority-by-lineage centric catholics may disagree on so many subjects, they both agree than I, the average believer in the pew, is NOT Christ. In this regard, both sects dis-follow Jesus own example to accept Christ as one's Self. And this is what ultimately brings you back here, to hell.
Hell is ultimately a temptation, and these sects offer some very tempting ideology, and many concepts that, in the end, just waste time. At best, they might make hell a little more hospitable through, what i call priest-craft. They will never, as is, offer a way out.
Salvation is for Christ, not christians.
Amazing all the bs some people will post on here and miss the bigger picture. For example, the Protestant church came into existence as a rejection of the Catholic church. Some very fundamental disagreements existed including who should be seen as an expert in fields like science.

People who can't achieve a deep meditative state talk a lot of BS because they can't quiet their minds. That's all the rosary is, a way to get there. Women quite like to have a female to address, Mary is not however God though she was specially engineered as a human to be the vessel so it's believed had some unique position.

The thread started with a video on the differences between Catholism and Christianity.
It was just information to which you wanted to through up straw men for yourself - claiming on the church moving away from purgatory teaching.

Never has been. The claim that only a priest can forgive sins is totally antithetical to biblical truth. So is the claim that one must confess to a priest for sins to be forgiven, the Bible states numerous times that only Jesus can forgive sins and took upon our sin on our behalf. That alone completely disqualifies catholicism as a Christian belief. Neither is Mary in any way holy, nor can sins be absolved through monetary contributions, nor should physical violence be condoned in any way to convince others of one's belief. Ironically the Catholic Church gets quieter and quieter on the issues of abortion, homosexuality, and past wrongs toward boys and indigenous folk. Funny sect.

Why would you think i haven't read the official cannons of the various sects which self-identify as christian? Or why would you think i don't know what the differences are, and that either way, it is a waste of time?
One sect is more cannon-centric, the other is ruled by the Magisterium. No, you can't just hijack the Magisterium's official cannon, cut out six or so members of it, and pretend to have a new, legitimate authority.
The reason i say waste of time is because the objective is to escape hell by overcoming it's temptations and deceptions. This escape is a forgone conclusion, symbolized by Jesus' walking out of a tomb, and if so, all we can do is delay the inevitable. We do this by trying to save what can't be saved, which delays the salvation of that which ought to be saved, Christ.
Origen used to be "catholic" until the orthodoxy rug pulled out from under him. One of the reasons for turning it's back on Origen is the Magisterium found a heaven-vs-hell narrative more lucrative than the Universal Salvation that Origen was think-tanking, as he stood on Plato's shoulders who described it as the Return to the Good. The sects who stole the Magisterium's cannon also find the heave-vs-hell narrative to be lucrative to their cause as well.
Just because the Magisterium had been off the rails for centuries (arguably were never on track) doesn't mean that protesters (protestants) were, or got back on track. The rift between James and Paul over how salvation is achieved, is highlighted in the struggle between the Magisterium and the protesters. Just as neither James, nor Paul was correct, and wasted our time, so do these latter day struggles between the "faith only" crowd, and the "works" crowd.
Given the inevitability of salvation, the gnashing of teeth between so many various sects devolving from the Magisterium and their cannon is indeed a waste of our time. All such sects are arguing against Jesus own dictum: "Whosoever will lay down their life for my sake will take it up again. But those who try to save their life will lose it". This simply means that salvation is for Christ, not for people. Neither group can interpret this correctly because neither group is right, being very wrong, trying to save sinners, instead of Christ. These groups need perhaps thousands more years of re-incarnational experience before they get tired of trying to save the flesh.
Oh, and have your read the sayings of Thomas, found buried near NagHamaddi?
