All fluff and show really... the supply chain crisis is faltering since last year due to issues in Asia really. Ships backing up outside of Long Beach is not because there is a U.S. fix to this problem....

Neither Biden nor DOT can shift the supply chain on a dime due to sudden spikes in demand and lack of capacity. Biden cannot waive a wand and make 100,000 new trucks and drivers appear on the road. A container can only come off a ship so fast and there are 70 ships waiting to unload and a full container yard of cargo already offloaded waiting to be trucked and railed out and thousand of warehouses waiting to have enough personnel to unload trucks and containers fast enought o send them back to the port etc....

This is a private sector issue with little DOT or Biden can do but I am sure he will wave his hands and claim he solved it. even worse, trump would have said he is the best logistics person in the world, knows all the players in Jina to fix it..

True, both sides looking for their angle on soemthing they have nothing to do with but we have gotten to the point of a populace so stupid and swayed by social media they repeat like parrots what they are told. I remember seeing a pic on FB of the ships docked outside of Long Beach with a "Thank you Biden" caption...

then I have sit and watch Biden et al talking about how Buttigieg will be reviewing the problem to solve it....really?

Yeah someone told me the gas prices shot up because Biden closed the pipeline.

I said... isnt hat oil from canada..

So it can still be transported and brought into the country....Biden did not shut down oil production or close Canada's oil production....also OPEC cut back production during COVID and lost millions when oil hit $0 so they have basically been curbing oil production to keep oil up while record demand is all over the globe.. U.S. has no power over the price of oil even if we release reserves which are good for 2-3 days at best.

Oil rallied right after the announcement...because Biden just confirmed there is a problem with supply and this policy will help for 2 days

We have other reserves sitting in North Dakota and lots on federal lands...The drills are sitting on top ready to pump.......If he announced to pull from these reserves the chart would look different

It’s not over two days. It’s a strategic release over “the next few months.” Theoretically, could drop prices 5% or so but the move is more so to get the Saudis and Ruskies pumping again.

This release will be the largest ever. We are sitting on 400 million barrels and I would not be surprised if Biden et al ended up releasing another slug after January.

Biden's primary contribution to the epidemic has been playing Santa Claus with Trump vaccines and because that is an easy shot, that is actually his highest area of favorability - close to 50%. But now we are moving into an "okay, now what phase" with all of that.

So I can very easily see Biden doing the Santa Claus routine to the max with the oil reserves. But there is an "okay now what" phase coming at the end of that too if he goes that route.

Talk about going from energy independence to dependence to now cracking the reserves .....think about how vulnerable it would/will be to be running out or majorly down with the reserves. Who has our back then?
