A large number of people that actually TRADE for a living have left this website. People such as Longhorns as well as others come to mind.

Greetings Landis,

I forgot my old password and decided to create this temporary account to author my reply. A good friend had alerted me to this thread and I thought I would take the time to respond.

You are quite mistaken in a few areas of your various missives in this thread. I did not leave ET because I thought the board was mismanaged, but because I had other responsibilities in which I had to devote my attention. Reading and replying on a message board takes some time...time I do not presently have. I enjoyed the candor of the threads and thought the setup of the message board ideal. I had met Baron once at an event and had no problem with him. He presented himself well and seemed very intelligent.

While I appreciate that you are a fan of mine, I do not appreciate your various mentions and assumptions of myself. If you wish to include someone in your thread, then its appropriate to ask and discuss first before doing. I did not appreciate my real name being displayed on the board in a previous thread you authored. I do value my privacy and felt that the mention of my name violated that aspect.

I have reviewed several of your threads and concluded that you have a certain demeanor which seems overly aggressive and hostile. I dont believe Paul Tudor Jones would want his name behind your distasteful posts. In fact, Im certain if I emailed copies of the threads in which you mention his name and working for his firm then I am betting he will sick his legal dogs on you.

Baron is a very experienced website professional. He has been in the business a very long time and knows what works and what doesnt. I would not come to his website and tell him how to run things. That is simply not appropriate. Instead, I suggest that if you do not like how things are run then find a new site or create your own. Your constant complaints seem like whining and no one appreciates that.

Im not going to tell you what to do, but politely make a suggestion. You should take at least a 60 day break from this site and I encourage Baron to assist in this process by placing a temporary ban on the ip. I think you need time away from this site to collect your thoughts.

In closing, I wish to ask you not to contact myself by phone at Assent. You can instead come to meet me and say what you want to my face versus hiding behind a computer on the internet.

I wish you luck and want to say that I will not be back to this site as I am constantly working on other goals in life which take priority at this time.

Good luck...

This would include YOU, right?

You said this like it's a bad thing. WTF? Do you think that you yourself, are also a POS for having several?

Or perhaps you think that only having one at a time is ok?

Why the need for new ones anyways? Did you embarass yourself and couldn't face the music? or get yourself banned?

How utterly ironic and convenient of you "PORT" to stop by this thread impersonating someone that actually trades for a living. If one wants to see what currently plagues ET, one doesn't have to look any farther than right here. By the way, how are they "treating" you lately at Bellevue?

I think this is exactly why if you are an experienced trader and want to teach, you should be doing it on your own site, rather than here or any other public forum.

On your own site you will be able to create an environment that is conducive to teaching and sharing what you have to offer and be the one that profits by it.

Think about it: You are actually MAD that you can't build and create valuable content that makes someone elses business thrive while you waste your time and bang your head in frustration at the experience.

Why not be building your own informational business? and if you have one, I would think the more you can control the environment and experience of your students, the more loyal and appreciative they will become. That is certainly not a public forum.

If you don't want to make it a business, why not start a blog and teach trading from there?

ET took my moderator status away because I criticized puresh!t lol. They also deleted the thread.

One less set of eyes watching over some of the forums.:D Their loss.
baron, why so quick to close my other feedback thread? Do you think you're the president of iran? I happen to disagree with you with respect to you choosing the side of alex over monty. And you want to silence me from saying this so you delete my post and close the thread:confused:

You might as well delete all my threads, this included, if you do not like what I have to say. You obviously don't want successful traders on this site.

there are a few SI posters on ET, i'm among them.

the reasons for SI losing much of its base had nothing to do with the reasons cited above. there were a number of reasons, but one of them was actually disruptive members (which caused some of the individual mods to take "their" thread elsewhere). but there were a lot of reasons for the decline in SI's popularity.

everyone's got their own needs and things they can contribute.

that's all.

I think "some form" (of self moderation) are the key words. Like I said before, I've never seen that implemented successfully on another message board site. I'm sure that the main reason why is because it's not even a feature that's offered by any of the companies who provide message board software. Perhaps there's a legal reason why they dont offer it. I don't know but I will look into it.

Baron,

Were you able to look into this? If so, could you give us an update?

Quote from B. Rowshan:

baron,

Successful traders will not start quality threads anymore because there are always a few slimy maggots who are intent on wrecking them. This hurts YOUR website.

EricP offered a great idea. This idea would totally solve the problem of parasites wrecking threads.

The choice is yours baron. pay for the software to allow for self moderation as realistically outlined by EricP. or continue to watch forums such as "trading" become a baron wasteland.

I will never start a new thread until there is self moderation as outlned by EricP's suggestion. I don't need to emplore others to follow suit because it is so obvious that already quality posters refuse to start new threads. ET is so void of quality now it is a joke. You can dramatically improve ET if you choose to allow for self moderation.

It should be the right of anyone starting a thread to ban posters and delete (but not modify) specific posts by slimy trolls intent on wrecking threads. All the "no" votes here will be from the port1385's of ET who enjoy ruining threads.

Do the right thing and don't be so damn cheap!

Baron,

Please revisit this topic.

In the meantime, here's another great thread by a long term ET member and very successful trader (lescor) that is now being ruined by another slimy maggot parasite (billyjoerob):

http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=2724063#post2724063

There have been several requests to clean up the worthless crap posted in this thread starting with the above post. In addition, I have also used the 'complaint' feature, and am hoping that something gets done soon to 'fix' the mess. Note that all of this would be unnecessary if a thread's OP was able to self moderate their own threads.

Please do something, before more quality posters go into hibernation.

Weekend is a great time for mudlslinging and spam because folks know ET management is rarely home.

Regardless, it's Super Bowl weekend. Folks are tense wondering if they got enough chips and hotdogs. :p
