Yawn....... Israel attacked by Hamas

Where do you get information that 72% of them were IDF? I am am not seeing any citation of this in the news.

I assume that you mean active IDF --- since Israel has required military service, it means that many people previously have served in the IDF.

If previously serving in the IDF means that you are a "soldier to be eliminated" then this means that nearly every civilian in Israel is somehow a "solder to be eliminated" according to this line of reasoning.

National service is manditory for over 18s.

Three years for the men, two for the women.

What was the point of training them to be soldiers for three years if it was not to train soldiers? You do know the age profile at a trance festival.

Groups like this justify with regards "legitimate military targets" etc.

Everybody who has been in the IDF is in the reserves until they are 40.

Where should they go?’ Politician fears for Gaza citizens

Palestinian politician Mustafa Barghouti says he’s concerned Israelis like Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, when vowing “mighty vengeance” against Hamas, are laying the groundwork for civilian deaths in the Gaza Strip.

Here’s what he told ABC radio a few moments ago:

Their approach is to claim that Israel is always the victim and to demonise Palestinians.

Israel has conducted, already, five wars on Gaza which took the lives of more than 5000 people.

The prime minister of Israel said, clearly, that the population of Gaza should leave Gaza so that [Israel] can crush Hamas. That’s what he said. Where should people go? To the sea? Where should they go after they’ve been disposed from their homeland in Palestine?

Asked if he condemned the tactics that have been used by Hamas, Barghouti said:

I condemn any violation of the rights of human beings anywhere. I am against the killing of any Palestinian or any Israeli.

But the picture that is presented to you is misleading because, here, the vast majority of the victims in this conflict [over time] are on the Palestinian side.

So anyone who is 39 according to this reasoning... even if they have been out of the IDF for two decades for so... is still a legitimate military target. Let me say that this is piss poor reasoning trying to claim that nearly every person is a military target. It does not hold water.

Maybe Hamas should stop using Palestinian civilians has human shields.

Hamas is nothing more than wholesale terrorists... it is time that Israel eliminated their rule of Gaza and paved the path to the restoration of the Palestinian National Authority -- the rightful governing entity to take back over. This is the first necessary step to restoring peace in the region.

There should be no sympathy for terrorists... and any U.S. politician such as AOC and her squad that issue statements not supporting Israel to stop this terrorism (which is our official government policy) should be held accountable for their statements.

At least 260 bodies found at music festival site in Israel after Hamas attack, rescue organization says
From CNN's Amir Tal in Jerusalem

At least 260 bodies have been found at the site of an Israeli music festival following Saturday's attack by Hamas, according to Israeli rescue service Zaka.

Hamas gunmen shot at fleeing attendees and took others hostage at the festival in a rural farmland area near the Gaza-Israel border, according to social media videos and accounts from festivalgoers.

The terrifying attack was just one of multiple locations hit on Saturday morning by the most sustained and coordinated assault inside Israel ever carried out by Hamas, the Palestinian militant group designated as a terror organization by the United States, European Union and Israel.

The outdoor Nova Festival event was supposed to be an all-night dance party, celebrating the Jewish holiday of Sukkot.

Read more about the festival attack here.

nice try; let's look at the tweet you were criticizing in question:

Not even in GWB mental gymnastics, could her statement ever be misconstrued as "supportive of Hamas". You saw the Al-Aqsa attack as justified because you hate Muslims, just say it.

You are not out if you are in the reserves. It's a militarised society.

Hamas told itself there were a bunch of legit targets with their pants down (many off their heads on pills/acid and weed) in easy reach so they reached.

But, what they thought they were achieving is the question (besides some hostages and not from the festival as they had to get back into Gaza). There are 200,000 active duty IDF. More reserves.

The terrorist group, Hamas, is already bragging about the hostages they took and their plans for them.

The hostages include citizens of other nations including Mexico, Germany and other countries. I will note that many do not hold Israeli (dual) citizenship.

Yes, that what's going to stop Israel raising Gaza to the ground.

Actions have rationales, hostages are shields. The festival massacre was something else.

As noted... The hostages include citizens of other nations including Mexico, Germany and other countries. I will note that many of the hostages do not hold Israeli (dual) citizenship.

Of course, the hostages lead to a complicated situation. Do you go in and just kill the Hamas members and don't bargain for hostage exchange (as per the typical Israeli government policy) which will likely lead to their deaths.

Hostages complicate plan for 'mighty vengeance' against Hamas
https://www.reuters.com/world/middl...an-mighty-vengeance-against-hamas-2023-10-08/

The shooting of people running away across a field at the music festival was simply murder and the Hamas terrorists used them for target practice.
