As most here who have read my posts know that I am a liberal but they may not know I completely break from liberals when it comes to gun control (The screen name should be a clue though)

I have my HK P2000 sk or Glock 33 every second I am away from home and a mossberg mariner bed side(I have 2 AK's and a Sig 556 but the shotgun is my primary home weapon as I live in a condo and have to consider penetration issues with my neighbors if I ever have to use my guns at home)

I started shooting when I was 8 and hated it.Started with 22's and by 12 was shooting 45's , 357's Ak's and shotguns.I was scared of the noise and recoil of guns when I first started shooting and my mom and dad would argue because he forced me to go shooting with him even though I didn't want to.

When I was 10 my dad sat me down and explained to me even if I didn't like guns when I had a wife and family it was my duty as a father ,husband and man to protect them.By 12 I loss all fear of guns and loved to go shooting with my dad.I don't have a family but when I do I will sit my son down and tell him the same thing my father told me.If I have a daughter for her potential husband to have my approval he must be a gun owner

Hey bro, thanks! And, you don't owe me anything at all. When I came out of the Marine Corps (back when lol), I called my former recruiter, and told him I was wanting to go to College, and needed a full time job during. He told me I should apply to law enforcement as they "look to recruit prior service" due to the regimental discipline. I thought about it (didn't really want to do it), but applied, was hired, and went through the State Police Academy in my State.

And no, you're not littering in here at all! Your post is appreciated!:)

Outstanding! Glad to read this! I started shooting at about the same age starting with yes, the .22 long rifle. Can you believe back then (I'm making myself sound old lol), me and my Friends used to walk to a hardware store in my area, and buy 50 round boxes of .22 long rifle for .79 cents a box. Ammunition wasn't very expensive at all back then as there wasn't the fear we have today causing people to hoard ammo, and greedy distributors to run up price.

I had a 1st Cousin who thought it would be funny to get out his single shot 10 gauge shotgun for me to try while we were at the range. I fired that thing, and can still remember to this day the bruise on my shoulder, and the feeling that a mule had kicked the shit out of me.:eek: :D

And your Sig 556 is an AWESOME rifle! I want one! Can you call my Wife today and tell her that since I took her to buy her usual shoes that break my wallet, I can buy a Sig 556?:D On a serious note, that Sig is HIGHLY reliable, and TOTAL precision! Love it! Glad to have another "barrel head" around!
 
Let's look at a hypothetical country that is about to decide whether to allow concealed weapons. Let's say that there are two types of people: Type1 intends to carry a gun if allowed, Type2 does not intend to carry a gun even if it is lawful.

Scenario 1: guns allowed
Type1 benefits because he is safer with a gun (e.g. can scare the mugger away)
Type2 is disadvantaged (for the reasons i stated in previous posts due to unintended gun firing: kids bringing guns to schools, road range, etc.)

Scenario 2: guns disallowed
Type 1 is disadvantaged because now he can't protect himself if mugged
Type 2 benefits compared to Scenario 1 because he no longer is accidentally shot

It looks like Type1 and Type2 will always have the opposing views on the gun laws because the benefit/detriment is clearly linked to gun carrying habit which is not easily changeable.

Lol! A VERY naive statement as you don't know what you say. You've never been in a life/death situation, and it shows. A firearm is NEVER, EVER to be used to "scare" a bad guy away!!! You never point a firearm at anything you don't plan to shoot.

And the point in carrying a concealed weapon is the element of surprise. Someone is going to mug you, beat your brains out, etc., you first try to avoid the situation. If you cannot, you draw the pistol or revolver, acquire a good sight picture, and squeeze the trigger until the threat has been stopped.

Btw shortie, did you know that 54 million people were exterminated in the 1900's AFTER they were disarmed by their governments? If I could post a powerpoint that I received from a College Professor (surprising huh), it will help you understand.

I don't know what else it's going to take to point out to you that you're wasting your time arguing this stuff. I'm starting to feel frustrated, and I don't frustrate easy. Are you really for real with this stuff, or do you have too much time on your hands?

the government can killed the armed people just as efficiently. you don't really believe that if THEY come to your door saying that you violated such and such law you will shoot your way out, do you?
