Would you collaborate with a programmer if it meant sharing your system/research?

This is a trading forum. Collaboration means "for $2 i get to beat you with a pool stick until you have detached retinas"

Lol, and here I thought good trades were a win for both parties! How else can you expect to keep trading?

It's often called "professional courtesy". But, you usually don't get any until you give some.

Kinder Outdoors reminds to be kind LOL.:D:D
WSJ had an old line chart, Coke sell more bottled water than sugar water.\
So even if Coke kept recipe ''secret '', 7 Up+ Mountain DewYahoo doesn't care LOL.
Personaly i buy more 100% fruit juice + V8..............................
But I take a bottled water when she gives it:caution::caution:

Unfortunately that only works if the person you are trading with doesn't have a profit incentive along the same axis as you.

Can you show what you brought to the table? You can make up the strategy I am curious how you gave requirements and logic of the system/strategy.

Forget about that... LF will just say it's proprietary "crown jewel" type stuff and withhold. But you've hit the nail on the head. LF is trying to "talk the talk" but isn't "walking the walk".

LF, just show something, anything, in your history of over 12k posts that's remotely technical. A script, a function call, a formula, decent pseudo-code. Something that's helpful or novel or interesting or a little creative and all these people "throwing shade" will think twice.

Until then it's all hot air and no one will give you the benefit of the doubt.

Read your prior posts to me in this thread. Why on earth would I share anything with you two?

This thread is over anyway and just entertainment value at this point. It was never about the specifics of my system (which everyone is convinced is worthless anway), but generally about collaboration and the potential risks and rewards associated with that. I learned my lesson. The next time I need something done I'm paying for it - just like I did the first time.

OK. my post goes to anyone thinking about hiring development. People cannot explain what they want (in any profession; in any domain) and consultants milk them for it.

THANKS for your post.
But My illustration of Coke with 7Up + V8 not caring about Coke's ''secret'' recipe was not meant to belittle Coke. Meant to illustrate markets working.
I enjoy thier bottled water/Desani+ i also noted they [Coke] sells more bottled water than Coke, WSJ line chart noted.
No telling how much Coke spent on Desani package.

No one's asking you to share anything. All we're doing, actually, is giving you our thoughts.

Instead, the proposition being put forth is that you don't have any track record of good technical skill. The whole argument is that you have nothing worth sharing yet. Thus you lack the credibility and experience required to make a good judgement. It's definitely a bit of a catch-22. But...

You keep twisting the argument around because, as far as I can tell, you're mostly driven by arrogance and greed at this point. Frequently, that kind of person is referred to pejoratively as a "diva" or "prima donna".

There's a difference between those things and simply having a dignified confidence and an enlightened self-interest. This means knowing that what's good for others is also good for you. As they say: "it's not a zero sum game".

Nobody wants to collaborate with the former type of person. That person is not a "rain maker", the latter is.

I'd advise you gain some humility, build a track record (a modest one at first) and then you'll get more respect. Power respects power, pull yourself up by your bootstraps and you'll be able to turn a vicious cycle into a virtuous one... you can do it!

That's as good a half-time pep talk as I can give, sorry. Go out there and turn this game around; win one for the Gipper!

Good trading edges are like gold dust. It is hard to find really good edges.

I would share most anything with a programmer wife.
My Community+ Local banks know a lot about me,[ Insurance Company, somewhat];
but unlike BAC, the local banks have character, capacity to pay + collateral, conditions.
Would i share much of anything with BAC types[now LOL], BAC under 200day moving average. NO:D:D
Most any kind of business secret get discovered;
or even if not like Coke, KFC, competition may do better, in time.
I have just laughed form the first sentence to the last one and even after that. I like your sense of humor
