How are they marginalised exactly? After living in many countries, I've realised the world very much runs on merit. If you're advocating hiring based on genitalia or skin color then we can just agree to disagree.

The world largely runs on merit but not actually. Invisible barriers prevent certain people from exceling and propel other people from exceling. As a white person in the Phillipines I'm sure you are aware of your privilege even compared to local with similar (but local) pedigree.

This simply does not happen at any scale, because DEI programs by definition exist to promote underperforming minorities into positions they wouldn’t otherwise attain.

I’ll also note that race-motivated federal bans on screening job applicants by IQ tests or competitive exams make it always and everywhere more difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff, when it comes to hiring. That’s part of the reason why you now need a college degree to get hired for practically any non-service job, which in turn drives the parasitic education industry.
