Why is the forum slow?

Is this just me or is the forum slow? Pages load slowly etc. I don't think it's just me, because otherwise I don't have any problems with my Internet connection and various other pages load with reasonable speed. I have been watching this forum on and off for a few years and it has always been slow. I am assuming the problem is with the site and I am wondering why is this an ongoing issue that has not been fixed for a long time.
 
It's not just you. I frequently see page refreshes so agonizingly slow it reminds me of the days when 9600 baud rate modems were top of the line.

I would like to report that I am not experiencing any slowness. I cannot remember any slowness this entire month.
