What happens when there are too many guns in America

More toddlers fall down stairs than get shot by a gun falling off a shelf. Ban stairs?

How about toddlers that drown?

What about all the kids that get shot by drive bys committed by gangs in inner cities? I'm all for smart legislation that addresses the problems, not some blanket approach to make you folks feel better that has no chance of having any effect in the real world.

You really are the worst kind of person.

So I have been posting these strange incidences of gun violence in another thread to prove the point that when we reach a high level of total guns in America strange incidents become more probable. This beyond soaring murder rates and criminal gun violence. While these things will increase too with the availability of guns I’m talking about things like a kid playing outfield at little league takes a bullet to the chest, mom gets shoot by toddler on zoom call, 5 year old shoots 2 year old. I’m sure you get the idea.

So that’s what this thread is. And it’s to prove that every American’s odds of being involved in an incident of gun violence is increasing every day with the increase in guns in America.

Have you ever perhaps considered the problem might lie with society and not guns? Plenty of evidence points that way.

To your point though, yes, it would seem the odds have increased, but I don't think it's because of the amount of guns. We've always had lots of them. No... the problem goes way deeper than that.

Target (TGT) has become a target for major thefts, and it's taking a huge chunk out of profits.

The retailer estimated in its earnings release Wednesday that inventory shrinkage — mostly the theft of merchandise — would clip profits by a whopping $500 million this year. Factoring in an about $700 million profit hit from inventory shrinkage in 2022, Target is on pace to see $1.2 billion in profits go up in smoke, due primarily to organized retail crime.

Target Chairman and CEO Brian Cornell says the problem is getting worse, is nationwide, and across various merchandise departments.

"The unfortunate fact is violent incidents are increasing at our stores and across the entire retail industry.

Of course he has. He's not stupid. But its much easier to blame an inanimate object then put responsibility on people. Solving gun violence is a complex problem, and most who blame guns don't want to put forth the effort - or don't like what the solutions are, because they'd be racist.

Thank you for actually acknowledging the point I’m trying to make, the probability of experiencing gun violence is increasing in America. Most people like to point their agenda into these threads bypassing the initial point trying to be made, whether they agree or disagree.

I certainly have considered the problem may be mental health, societal, etc. I really haven’t seen any evidence to back that up. Perhaps you have some?

I’m all about putting responsibility on people. Hence why I am for common sense gun laws. But what you’re missing is this is actually about victims. Where are your priorities?

Ok, so let me ask the question I've asked you before that you didn't seem to want to answer before. And please note that I'm trying to be as civil as possible to you while you claim I am "the worst kind of person".

What would you do - what law would you pass - to solve these issues? Lets go step by step.

Horseshit, if you're talking about me. I've never denied that gun violence is not increasing.
