What are the Dem Commies saying about the situation in Cuba?

If the extreme liberal Democrats and RINOs get their way and turn the US into a 3rd world shithole as some of you ET trolls have been rooting for, this is your future as well. You are too dumb if you cannot figure that out yet. ET trolls who live in shithole countries, you deserve the misery you already are experiencing.

What situation is Cuba? It's a socialist utopia and everything is going as planned. It's not quite the leftist paradise that North Korea is, but give it time.
Meanwhile we live here in the terrible, oppressive nation of white devils. A country so horrible that even those who hate it won't leave. Such miserable conditions we have to manufacture problems to complain about. :banghead:

Cuba has been a dictatorship since 1960.. dont believe the hype...

Now don't dance around and say I favor socialism or communism because I never said that.. but to call Cuba a socialist country just ignores facts. Castro came to power, seized land, property and money and only gave the people what HE thought they should have and then cut off all freedoms. Does not sound really socialist like Norway or Canada...

Nothing benevelont about what Castro did to Cuba...

Well 99% of the people are not truly commies, they are just trying to live a life and feed their families. I travelled there several times and there is no communism crawling in the streets, only in the top levels of government. They love freedom and living a simple life but never get a chance to have it. That is why so many escape to U.S. or surrounding countries because they gave up on the government back in the 1980s when shit collapsed.

It is really sad but U.S. should ignore the 40,000 voters in Southern Florida and really open relations and trade and commerce with Cuba. Instead of offshoring in China, they could do it in Cuba for manufacturing which would bring so much change to the country with jobs and technology and freedoms. It is not like the people are actively voting to keep the system down there, there are no free elections.

The embargo with Cuba is so antiquated when you consider our relations with China, Russia, Pakistan and Afghanistan. U.S. is afraid of a tiny island with no army or economy?

exactly, Cuba should've been the Vietnam of the Americas. Meanwhile, S.Arabia is our friend and totally not repressive /s

Good analogy. Even in Dominican republic, they created a huge free trade zone and many manufacturers moved production from China to DR which is closer to the mainland for logistics, less ccrowded and zero political risk really.

Same island, Hispaniola, same resources more or less. But the DR is pretty industrious while Haiti remains locked in 19th century feudalism. Why is that?

DR was in the shit for many years but the corrupt governments were pushed out over time. Haiti has had corruption galore and nothing has changed as evidenced by the recent assassination. Haiti was always treated as second class citizens due to who founded it if you go back and look at the history in the 1800 and 1900s.

Also the main difference is who the colonial power was... France v. Spain. France ran their colonies like shit towns. Spain developed trade and industry and left legacies after independence. France abandoned Haiti.

Having worked in the DR -- the people there really hustle. There are a lot of small businesses and the banking system is set up around micro-lending to individuals. So the street vendor selling fruit can someday enhance themselves to owning a retail store someday. Very capitalistic system in the DR in regards to business.

The people in the DR view that they have a great culture (they are quite proud of their Spanish heritage & language) but have endured bad government. They still endure some government corruption but not at the level of neighboring Haiti.

As a side note -- the DR is building a "wall" to keep the Haitians out. It was a primary issue in their recent presidential election.

I would note that France was pushed out of Haiti in the Haitian Revolution -- it was not a smooth transfer of power in any manner.
