We can't feed all these people...that would only create dependency...

Quote from jem:

self loathing is probably what happens when you do not seek forgiveness or when you seek it but do not truly repent.

If you truly repent you are unlikely to be self loathing. You will know peace.

It's you that starts these threads every single day. Why the obsession? Everyone know's your position. What's to gain by hammering at it day and night? I haven't seen anyone trying to convert you, and I doubt you're converting anyone yourself, so what's the point of all this back and forth?
hey what can i say. it amuses me to spar with you guys on the other side. besides, its my duty:

We Have A Responsibility…as unbelievers, we have a responsibility to the future of our species to do whatever we can to disseminate the science and eliminate the myth.

another line from a no thinker former fundamentalist.

so without religion it would not be wrong to murder, abortion, stealing, sleeping with the buddies wife or kid... etc.

and no one would feel guilty and no one with self loathe.

preposterous.

do societies that have no religion have a murder is ok mentality? no. so then it is something else besides religion that tells us murder is wrong.
it helps to think beyond black and white.

you just proved your previous point was wrong. Obviously religion did not make up the idea of sin.

sin is the transgression of a religious or moral law. i know you hate to do this... but check the dictionary.

One of my wife's sisters is a psychiatrist. She says that people who are extremely religious or extremly anti-religious usually suffer from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). She said they're easy to spot. They keep bringing up the same subject (religion or anti-religion) over and over again. They can't stop even if they want to. Most of them don't want to stop because they don't think there's anything wrong with their obsession.
