‘We are sorry’: Hillsong apologises for Brian Houston conduct breach

Hi! Welcome to the religious trading forum that is mostly run by haters of the God of the Bible!

Looks like you are a fellow believer, so I hope you can join me in proclaiming God's light in a dark place.:)
Hehehe, no, what you are meant to say was "Welcome to the religious trading forum that is mostly run by haters of heavy bias and brainwashing of the bible and those trying to railroad christian beliefs onto stupid people". :)

I can recall years ago a work collegue told of his wife dying of cancer.
I said nothing but decided to fast and pray for 3 days about it, I didn't know this woman, never met her.
Anyhow just prior to her death she became a christian which surprised me as he wasn't a christian. I never went to the funeral but it was in a church somewhere and apparently from what I was told it was a happy funeral.

Prayer may work, but I've heard lots of horror stories of christians going through a lot of terror and pain too, including nasty accidents.

These days I dont think too much about praying, we make our own luck, good or bad frequently.

I think maybe our minds pray for us.
Today I mentioned how one of my penny stocks went belly up to the tune of $12k. Well no big deal, I'm seasoned to huge swings as I don't trade pocket money, but coincidently today thanks largely to my gold holdings among other stuff I trade, I was up only $500 short of $12k at close. Prayer? Don't think so as it never entered my mind to pray because as mentioned was no big deal, but when I told wifey her mouth dropped until I told her I made it back again in the same day bar the 500 smackers. :)

Prolly everyone prays at times maybe, but as for results, prolly 50/50.
Thanks for sharing that.

Fasting and praying for 3 days is hard. I did some limited fasting a few years ago, but it was very hard on my body and I don't anymore. It's awesome you did that for someone you didn't know! :D

I know Christians go through horrible circumstances. It's not like prayer or being a Christian keeps anyone from difficulties. I think the difference though, is that when a believer calls out to the Lord, in those times, He does encourage our hearts to take comfort in His promises. Now that might sound like it's all stuff and fluff, but I've been there and done that and I'd rather have pain and suffering being assured that God loves me and this life is temporary, than to go through hardships without this emotional comfort.

The book of Job reveals that even in Job's agony he held onto his faith in God. I don't know that it made him feel happy, but at least he had the assurance that he belonged to God and would not always be in that awful condition.

For I know that my Redeemer lives,
And He shall stand at last on the earth;
26 And after my skin is destroyed, this I know,
That in my flesh I shall see God,
27 Whom I shall see for myself,
And my eyes shall behold, and not another.
How my heart yearns within me!
Job 19:25-27 NKJV

Christians are like the Chinese CCP Party, absolutely hate criticism of their party and ideology, with one boss at top calling the shots.

And your big bang THEORY is a fact?

yup, simillar to like how gravity THEORY is a fact and unlike how imaginary supernatural deities or Bible Gods are not THEORY or fact, but just human superstitions.

Lol! Dude we're all non believers really. It's that you just believe in one more God than those who don't.

I will give you that, christianity is indeed a comfort blanket.

:D
How can the Bible brainwash? The only reason it has a compelling, coherent message spanning over 1,500 years and about 40 different authors is that God Himself directed it.

Humans don't have the ability to randomly and haphazardly design something like that over such a long time span and with so many different people.

It's not like the authors could get together and plan it out. No planning, yet it is the "biggest con job" according to @themickey. Now, how does that happen?:D:D:D

I've never said God doesn't exist, nor have I said the bible is 100% garbage, what I'm saying is take everything with a pinch of salt, don't blindly accept as 100% this is God's word, but of course, I'm wasting time, veeeeery difficult to cut through brainwashing.

Did you look up the definition of "theory"? No point to argue with a dictionary denier. Lol.

I believe in one God. My kids are not my god, neither is my wife nor my parents, nor money.
