No. Obama put his foot in his mouth but Kerry did save the day. The Russians weren’t openly defending Syria back then because Obama kept our allies close. The Russians were brokering peace not threatening to defend Syria. There’s a big difference today.

Trump gave Syria over to the Russians after the plan developed during the Obama years worked in defeating ISIS. Trump backed down.
