Because I like him. We share a lot of common interests, and he's smarter than you can ever hope to be. And he's always been civil to me. He's not a shit like you.

That's because you eventually shit on anyone who disagrees with you. You can be uber pedantic and obtuse and then lay in when you are called to account. But not with dest. Yeah, I respect him, too. He's a very smart guy. But if he acted like you did, I would respond just as I do towards you. Response equity, and all that. Meanwhile, you channel your inner fluffer when he writes the kinds of things that would otherwise set you off had they been written by anyone else. What does that say about you?

I started undergrad three months after my 16th birthday on a full academic ride in PHYS to a top five school. I'd won a physics award as well (hence the PHYS ride). The winning submission was c-force fission micronuke design using a frustrum target.
Years later (a few years ago) I was talking to a top (now retired) DoD physicist who's the father of my wife's BFF. We talked for five hours at the daughter's house about p-physics, TU weapon design, etc. I had taken a picture on my phone of my Westinghouse submission and the DoD guy asked to see it. He sat there for 30 seconds slack-jawed. He was buzzed so I am sure he regrets it, but he told me that he had seen that exact technical drawing back in the late 80s. He intimated that it was in use.
I spent six years in higher-ed in the field of nuke-physics and astro (life-science minor). No PhD, but not a layman. It's THE reason that we sourced a second home in 1998 at altitude with a lead-lined basement. Paid the asking price on the third day of the listing.
How long will your supply of water last? Your water and food sources will be contaminated with Sr-90 and Cs-137 within hours of detonation.
There is NO two man rule on US nuclear-release. We have a POTUS who is borderline-functional (85-90IQ) who believed that the Nuclear Triad was Russia and China. He couldn't recall the third "member"

I've disagreed with lots of folks and have no problem with them. Hell, I've even called out folks on "my side" when I disagree. Have you? Of course not.
