US cities see unexplained rise in violent crimes this year

This is not a blip, it's a spike and a large one. There's a reason for that and it's painfully obvious what that reason is. Hint: It ain't that there are suddenly more guns available.

I doubt that making light of all these dead people will solve the problem, but it does fall right in line with the typical leftist response to the issue. Ignore, minimize and deny the problem exists, then wring their hands as the bodies pile up.
Frankly it is a combat zone in the poorer sections of Chicago, and it's spilling out into the rest of the city as well. But hey, anything to keep the racial divide in place. Dead Negroes mean votes.

The social safety net, equal opportunity and affordable health care have nothing to do with the killing fields of the inner city. It they did we wouldn't be seeing the spike in violence. You can continue to deny that glorifying thugs and condemning the cops that kill them isn't a problem, but it is a problem and it's a big problem.

well think about it. If we are going to let millions of illegal aliens just walk across the border do we really want them all armed? No, that would be unsafe for ALL people. So why not outlaw guns? Maybe it won't solve the problem but it's a good start we can all agree on (except a few Bible thumping holdouts in right wing talk radio land.)

So, you do not want to back up your claim that cities with stricter gun controls exhibit higher gun related crime rates than cities with less strict gun controls?

I am asking because you made such claim and now this post of yours kind of directly relates.

By the way I don't care about who ensures training and proper education on responsible gun usage. I believe lobby groups and industry associations benefit the pockets of their representative donors and are not motivated by delivering benefits to society. Hence let's not go down this road. It's almost like you laud drug dealers coming to school and educating kids to not share needles. Industry organizations that promote fair use of objects designed to kill rightly should have no place in school.

I hope you are aware what organization used to provide most of the gun education and training in the U.S. - it is the NRA.

When I went to K-12 public school NRA instruction was mandatory for all students. In elementary school they had the Eddie Eagle series and by high school you were shooting in gym class. Our high school in suburban Nassau County next to New York City had a rifle range. Our school had both a riflery team and archery team. Every day student brought their 22 rifles and bows to school and put them in lockers. We competed against other schools with similar facilities. We never had shootings in our school despite students bringing guns to school each day with the districts permission.

Who sponsored and provided all this training you ask -- the NRA.

Sadly these days are gone and in our politically correct era schools no longer have these programs.
