US cities see unexplained rise in violent crimes this year

You still don't get it. It's not about you, nut. It's about protecting all those around you from your road rages and the next time you get drunk and happen to have a gun on you. Geez, some are incredibly thick
now I'm confused. Are you trying to protect me from a car jacker or myself? Both isn't an answer. When I'm packing heat on a drive into the city I never know. Perhaps we just have a different definition of safe, or for sure, Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. In otherwords, I don't really like your values. They are not universal.

omg, I am looking to improve the safety of others from angry birds like you (you as in the collective you). And fortunately it is neither me or you who defines personal freedom and liberties. In your country it is your constitution and supreme courts that interpret it that define personal freedom and at the risk of repeating myself your constitution makes it perfectly clear that personal freedom has its limit when it infringes on the personal freedom and safety of others. Which part could you possibly disagree with? Its all spelled out in your own Bill of Rights for heaven's sake. It is widely accepted in the legislative branches of your country that the safety and life of a human being is to be valued a lot more highly than the right to bear a firearm. Goodness.

Please do not start again with your left vs right tirades. I am neither and believe political convictions are one of the biggest hindering points of progress. This world would be a much better place, including the US, if people would lay down their retarded political convictions and instead focused on the problems at hand and collectively worked on solving those.

you no nothing of America. Our legislature accepts everything. Cash, cars, vacations. It's the best money can buy. We always want some firearms handy to protect our beloved country from the government. If they take them away we will no longer be safe. Isn't that what you say you want? Or do you get worried we might use them on you? Better get a gun. You still can buy one where you live right? Some of those shithole countries like Mexico and Europe have made them darn near illegal for the commoner.

bless you mate!

completely for it, especially as a trend has been clearly established. But that should go in hand with a question of why such firearms are still freely accessible. As someone else pointed out in another thread, the world will never be perfect, there will always be some criminal elements that will obtain firearms, whether legally or illegally. But the rate of such tragic accidents can be greatly reduced, especially if this one turns out to be uncoordinated.

Yes, it is time to open and honest discussion about Islamic Terrorism. We can start it by having our government leaders calling it out directly as Islamic Terrorism.

Right now the govt is importing terror and you want to take good citizens guns?
Lets deal with terror. lets deal with those on mental health drugs. let the govt show us is can keep our borders closed to those who would want to harm us.

Yes, most definitely, part of the solution is removing guns. Of course, that would require proper education of people or wait until future generations finally get the message. Special interest groups have a lot of you fooled on many social policies ( gun control, health care, "lefties" fear, ... ). We have some hope when we look at examples of smoking and seat belt usage. However, it is still incredible how many dumb ass Americans don't wear seat belts these days ( far more then in Canada ).

And I have to comment on the frequent comments people make on here about US borders. At what point did the US make some brazen change in immigration law that supposedly changed your situation ? Come on now, when did this happen, because as far as I know you haven't "opened your borders" to any degree in decades ( the opposite might be true ) ? Yet on a daily basis people talk about the "open borders". What exactly occurred and when that made this a thing ?

Exactly. I think most Americans have no clue how hard it is to obtain a resident visa even as US educated and highly skilled employee, willing to contribute by paying taxes and working hard. In fact you fool most foreign students by giving them hope of a US placement yet disproportionately limit the number of available post education residence and work visa. At least then be honest and clarify that education is just a service after which the student is supposed to fuxx off.

But my main point is that the US makes it incredibly hard even for highly skilled talent from abroad such as Asia or Europe to come and work in the US due to visa restrictions. The US has not been open for decades so in fact nothing changed re immigration at all.
