It does not matter. I am not interested in personal flaming and never attacked or disrespected your country. My opinion on better ways to license firearms and requiring a proper examination applies universally not just the US.
well I am disrespecting outsiders who suggest changes to our culture. And anyone who disrespects the second ammendment is suggesting we become more like other imprisoned nations who live constantly under the tyranny of a mad socialist government. When all nations have a second amendment, then we can talk about how to disarm those that disagree with us.
Then maybe you want to read the full Bill of Rights because the way you interpret the 2nd amendment you are in direct contradiction and violation of several other amendments.
I hope you are aware what organization used to provide most of the gun education and training in the U.S. - it is the NRA.
When I went to K-12 public school NRA instruction was mandatory for all students. In elementary school they had the Eddie Eagle series and by high school you were shooting in gym class. Our high school in suburban Nassau County next to New York City had a rifle range. Our school had both a riflery team and archery team. Every day student brought their 22 rifles and bows to school and put them in lockers. We competed against other schools with similar facilities. We never had shootings in our school despite students bringing guns to school each day with the districts permission.
Who sponsored and provided all this training you ask -- the NRA.
Sadly these days are gone and in our politically correct era schools no longer have these programs.
Let's simply remove the large US cities which have strict gun control laws (Chicago, New York, D.C., etc.) from the crime statistics.
Once you remove these cities the U.S. had a lower crime rate than every European country as well as Canada. You can look in previous threads for the statistics.
Once again I am traveling to Toronto today - a city that is much more violent than my home in Cary, North Carolina. Cary is regularly on the list of 100 safest cities in America. Why is this you ask -- it is because we have one of the highest percentage of homes owning a gun and generally a middle class population of RTP professionals.
Of course I will pick up the local Toronto papers today to read all about the latest violent crime that occurred over the weekend - since we don't have Mayor Ford to entertain us anymore with his crackhead antics.
Honestly I don't see how arming all of the inner city will help the problem. What will help the problem, among other things, is actually supporting the police when they gun down one of these f'n thugs. There's a world of difference between Eric Garner and the Michael Brown, Freddie Gray types. Of course that means we quit politicizing the crime activity and actually do something of substance to fight the problem. Can't have that.
You don't stop crime by taking away criminals guns. You stop crime by using guns to kill criminals.
This is not a blip, it's a spike and a large one. There's a reason for that and it's painfully obvious what that reason is. Hint: It ain't that there are suddenly more guns available.
