McCabes firing seems politically motivated to me because of the timing. Going after his pension is petty and to recommend his firing without a full report is suspicious because it doesn’t show any context for the findings.
I will reserve full judgment on this until the report is released but how this rolled out is fishy.
They need to go to McCabe's house in the night, put him in cuffs, and hold him for arraignment and bail hearing.
From there he needs to go to prison after the obligatory trial.
His pension situation is what it is, and he and his lawyer can work it out with the pension administrators. The Department acted in a way that showed that he was being unceremoniously drummed out for bringing dishonor to the FBI, in addition to criminal conduct. That's appropriate.
