inb4 GWB comes in defending dude against getting "cancelled" because "both sides" were exercising their 1st amendment
First let me state that I never would support a sports announcer using the F word or N word. Even if they are caught on a "hot mic" it is strong grounds for dismal. In this particular situation the offense is further aggravated in that he was describing high school athletes.
If I was on a WebEx (or Zoom) call at work with customers and dropped the F word or N word -- I would be terminated. In the case of sports announcer his customers are the listening audience. This announcer should be terminated.
Now let's let's say this announcer had merely Tweeted after the game that he does not support the athletes on this team kneeling for the national anthem since many people in the military find it offensive. Should this Tweet be grounds for a "cancel mob" to hunt him down, demand he be terminated, and dox his address?
We have reached a point where we are unable to honestly and civilly debate issues -- instead the slightest infraction that somehow "offends" someone leads to the rise a cancel mob demanding retribution -- all this serves to do is to silence people from politely speaking their minds.

If not being able to say fck ngr prevents one from speaking their mind, then they don't have anything in their mind worth hearing.

If you use the F or N word to your customers while on the job.... you should lose your job and most companies would fire you.

No. No it won't.
You know, people f up sometimes. Maybe a 2 day ban from his job would help straighten him out. Losing ones job which could end up starving his children and that is not a good idea for anyone.
Maybe you need to look at the entire situation from the perspective of a corporate HR and legal department -- using the F and N words n front of a customer certainly is a situation meriting dismal.
A social media post in your private account stating that you do not support athletes kneeling for the national anthem because it disrespects military members is not grounds for dismal from a company.

Yes. Perhaps some sensitivity training, etc. as well.
But part of my earlier point was that there is no all-powerful 'cancel culture' that decides his fate, it's up to his employer.
Also, it was up to him to think about his kids. Lots of convicted criminals beg Judges for mercy ... for their kids' sakes. If we made decisions based on how it would affect everyone's kids, no one would be fired; and no one would go to jail.

The Media likes to Divide The People! This whole story is about dividing the people. And making them mad as hell. WTF. I mean, this thing is local, and then it is made into a National thing?
