Trump Makes First Big Mistake

Ann Coulter predicted that the VP selection could mark Trump's first big mistake. Looks like she was right. The rumored pick, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, pushed a Paul Ryan-type amnesty plan as a congressman. More recently he is known for folding like a cheap lawn chair after Indiana passed a law protecting Christians (and muslims) from having to participate in gay weddings. Pence managed to alienate both sides of the debate, no mean feat for someone so wishy washy.

While Trump had a smaller field than normal to choose from, since so many establishment pols opposed him, he could have easily picked someone better, a lot better. Chris Christie would at least have had his back, is great with the media and would not be embarrassed in the VP debate like Paul Ryan was.

Pence comes from a state that Trump will easily carry, no matter who his VP is. He could carry Indiana if he had picked Mike Tyson. Or Mike Ditka.

A governor like Pat McGrory of NC at least would have helped in a crucial swing state. In addition, he showed backbone in standing up to the gay mafia. No doubt the consultants "helping" Trump now considered him too controversial.

At least he didn't make an even bigger mistake and pick Gingrich, despite Sean Hannity's frantic cheerleading. If he had, the only women's votes he could really count on would have been Ivanka and Melania, and I'm not even sure Melania can vote here.

Yeah he should have gone with Christie, the guy who was hanging out with Obama days before the 2012 election.

Second, Chris Christie was dry humping Jerry Jones in the owners box. It was embarrassing.

Lyndon Johnson effect. Outsider President and establishment VP opens Trump up to assassination
If we reverse the kind of thinking you surely employed to come up with the above and think instead of how best to protect our President, we need look no further then Foresight's suggestion that Trump find someone of similar intellect as his running mate. Thus a clever way of discouraging those who might otherwise be tempted to assassinate our President is simply to make certain that the President's choice for Vice President is an obvious moron.

Sadly, in Trumps case, this otherwise clever protection plan, would be quite ineffective.

It is now clear to me that I underestimated John McCain.

ROFL!

Pence trumped Newt and the others. Now trump has the ace up his sleeve...a conservative to appease the base.

Don't worry too much, Drumpf's kids chose the guy and they'll keep him on a short leash.
Ya doubtful. Camels nose under the tent more like it. Trumps playing a game of the highest stakes and he knows it. Hope he can pull it off
