Trump itching to fire the fed

Don't quite know how to take that given our somewhat testy history, but yes, it is kind of sad. We all should be able to have some fluidity in our politics, and that's become extremely difficult to do. I think that's do to the, are you really going to sit there and judge my choice and your guy has a ton of shit in his game thought process.(comment not directed at you specifically).
It's like when Bill Clinton went through his drama. It was the era of the moral majority. Newt is cheating on his wife, one "man of God" after another is getting "massages" and screwing around and they're going to pass judgment on Clinton? Yeah, he lied about it. No shit, what guy isn't going to lie about that? He sullied the Oval Office. Hey, if I'm prez and can get a BJ in the Oval I'm dropping trou. Isn't anyone coming clean on that until the bitter end. So his supporters got pissed and took the position, screw you all, I don't care what my guy does from here on out, yours are no better. Fast forward through all the subsequent years, each party completely full of shit and disingenuous to the max, and here we are with Trump. People supporting Trump are now in the same mindset, you assholes are going to judge my guy? Really, I mean really? And now it's just a middle finger to everyone. Yeah, my guy is dirty as hell, soon as you come up with one that isn't, or at least isn't a fucking lunatic I'll take notice. Until then...well, we know where we're at. Again, I'm not directing this specifically at you, just a broad generalization of politics as I see it today, and yes, it's sad as hell.
Mass false equivalence.

So they put Mueller on Trump because he fired the FBI director?

yes and no; likely triggered a fail safe to continue Comey's work:

In May 2017, President Donald Trumpdismissed FBI Director James Comey, because he was critical of Comey's handling of the Clinton and Russia probes. Within eight days, following a call to action by Democratic lawmakers and revelations by Comey, Deputy Attorney GeneralRod Rosenstein appointed Mueller, a former FBI director, to take over the FBI's work.[4] According to its authorizing document,[5] the investigation's scope included allegations of "links and/or coordination" between the Russian government and individuals associated with the Trump campaign.[6][7] Mueller was also mandated to pursue "any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation." The probe included a criminal investigation which looked into potential obstruction of justice charges against Trump and members of his campaign or his administration.[8]

Right, so back to RedDuke's comment, I'd like to see what would be found if a special prosecutor was assigned to investigate Clinton like one was applied to Trump "irregularities". Otherwise, saying she has been "investigated for the last 30 years and nothing was found" isn't all that accurate a statement. And please don't play your "whataboutism" card. This is the nature of the conversation between RedDuke and me.

To call what Hillary went through an investigation makes a mockery of the entire system. Who gets advance notice from the feds about stopping by to collect evidence? Who gets to destroy evidence and get a pass? No one, that's who. Just that alone lands anyone else in jail.
And then there's this.

In 2012 President Barack Obama was caught telling the Russian President Medvedev “This is my last election, after my election, I have more flexibility.”

Where was the investigation of that? Tell me, convince me that if there was anything like that on Trump, if there was tape of him saying this exact statement to ANYONE, to ANY representative no matter how high or low on the political totem pole, from ANY country let alone Russia, his ass would be gone and the republicans would bend over and take it.
The bottom line is that Trump, blowhard asshat that he is, has done NOTHING, absolutely nothing that hasn't been done before by both left and right, and it's been that way for decades. Your fucked up, business as usual hack blew the 2016 election. For fucks sake get over it. Why can't you? I'll tell you why. Because the left doesn't have a single candidate worth a shit, and a platform which is batshit crazy, that's why. The only play is to run a continuous campaign of Orange Man Bad. It's fucking pathetic.

Yep, same probably would have happened, if it was Clinton who fired him, but we will never know of course. People conveniently forget what she was investigated, and a new one was opened by Comey right before election, and again zilch.

Btw, that last one right before election, is what tipped scale into Trump favor. After all he won PA, WS and MI with less than 100K votes, basically rounding error in country of 330 mil (no disrespect to voters there, speaking about pure statistics).

I can't argue with that last part, but its hard to say for sure. People are so polarized that they tend to ignore anything against their team and everything for their team reinforces their view no matter how absurd.

Whenever I read posts here with assessments and conclusions that I don't agree with (hi Cap'n), I take a deep, long, calming, cleansing breath, secure and content in the knowledge that Trump will do time. It's really quite refreshing.

Trump's never going to do any "time" behind bars Freddie. No judge is going to imprison a former president. It's just not gonna happen bro. He may have to plead guilty to some stuff and he may pay fines out the ass.... but prison time.... no. The Secret Service is not going to bite off on that.

Democrats are cowards, they'll never pursue it when he's out. All under the mantra of "peaceful transfer of power."
