Trump is bringing his message directly to the American people and Democrats are having a fit

He can use the speech to berate Democrats as being obstructionists who don’t want security in America.

He just did that. The results are below and its from Trumps favorite poll.

A recent poll released by Rasmussen Reports showed that President Trump’s approval rating has plummeted amid the partial government shutdown.

The Rasmussen Reports’ daily Presidential Tracking Poll on Monday posted a 43% approval rating for the president, his lowest since January 2018.

It notes: “The president’s overall job approval rating has been falling since his Oval Office address last week calling for enhanced border security and the building of a wall to help stop illegal immigration.”

According to Rasmussen, Trump's approval rating has slipped since his prime-time address last week in which he claimed that a border wall is necessary to confront a "humanitarian crisis" at the border.

The State of the Union Address is an annual message[1] presented by the President of the United States to a joint session of the United States Congress, except in the first year of a new president's term.[2] The message typically includes a budget message and an economic report of the nation, and also allows the President to propose a legislative agenda (for which the cooperation of Congress is needed) and national priorities.[3]

The address fulfills rules in Article II, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution, requiring the President to periodically "give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient."[1]During most of the country's first century, the President primarily only submitted a written report to Congress. After 1913, Woodrow Wilson, the 28th U.S. President, began the regular practice of delivering the address to Congress in person as a way to rally support for the President's agenda.[1] With the advent of radio and television, the address is now broadcast live across the country on many networks.[4]

Thank you for the cut and paste citations.....which address none of the issues that was raised. The issue raised is that it is not done during a shutdown when there are no workers/security.

Also every SOTU speech is just bullshit, there are no detailed economic reports or budgeting issues, it is a 30 minute pat on the back while suck ups stand and cheer at every word.

Thank you Speaker Pelosi.

Pelosi has the power to stop Trump from walking into the House of Representatives and delivering a speech, but she can’t stop him from making his case for the border wall in prime time. Just consider the address he delivered from the Resolute Desk last week.

Trump talked for roughly eight minutes and 43.3 million tuned in to watch, according to the AP’s count. Compare that to Trump’s very first joint address to Congress, right after his election, which 48 million watched. No congressional podium last week, and arguably far less interest in the novelty of his presidency, yet Trump drew an audience nearly as large.

No problem. The results from the address he delivered from the Resolute Desk last week...

Six Latest Polls Show Voters Are Blaming Trump for the Government Shutdown

President Donald Trump said a month ago that he’d gladly take the blame for a government shutdown over his proposed border wall. Polls show he’s getting it.

Six surveys taken since the partial government closure began last month tell a consistent story -- half or more Americans believe Trump and his party are responsible for the shutdown, while one-third or fewer point the finger at Democrats.

Yeah these guys think the majority of Americans are on Trump’s side and Trump should just keep hammering democrats so they are happy where they are. Little do they know what an opportunity they are squandering while Trump is dragging the country down.

37% is about right.

You don't speak for the majority Americans and your views do not represent the majority of Americans and it is not obvious that the President "doesn't know what he is doing".

Like most jackass liberals you speak with unjustified certitude and think your twisted worldview is held by the majority. You are hateful, deluded and downright stupid sir.

Neither do you. what is obvious is that you are absolutely clueless, Sir.

Of note none of these polls were paid for by Michael Cohen. We are seeing the public really getting pissed at Trump about this fiasco.

Now the question is, is Trump totally killing any possibility of a wall by taking this shit down too far?

Trump strikes back. Although I’m not sure if any of the agencies on furlough would cover this but hey Trump is gonna Trump. Amirite?

She just learned why you do not provoke the Commander in Chief. His powers are immense and uncheckable. Hers are puny. She literally has no way of fighting back against Trump. Impeach him? Go ahead, make my day.
