Fitch, which currently assigns the US its highest rating - "AAA" - said in a statement that the prioritisation of debt service payments over other government obligations, should the debt ceiling not be raised, "may not be compatible with 'AAA' status".
Australia also has a AAA rating.
My side is willing to shut it down until the mid terms over wall funding, just as we were in Mayl. Please do everything you can to make your side do it and don't let them cave again.
Doing my best.
I think you vastly overestimate the political card that will deal you this time around.
So you think the republicans in congress will go along with Trump and shut down the govt, and keep it shut down over a wall ?
When Obama threatened congress with a shutdown, any and all misfortune or inconvenience that resulted was totally congress' fault. Now, exact same situation, it's suddenly the president's fault.
Its not the exact same situation.Obama wanted a clean spending bill,Trump is demanding a wall.If Trump wants a wall it should be done through separate legislation.
No, but that's a different question. You were talking about great gains that would be had from the Republicans shutting down the government. I pointed out that you might be a bit off on that, and that the political capital the Democrats would get from it might be considerably less than you are squealing in delight over.
Now you're asking me if I think the Republicans will play ball with Trump and shut it down. No, I don't. I wish they would, but I think they are too concerned with their own skins to do what is right for the country. On that issue, they are just as bad as their counterparts on the left.
