From 2002 to 2011, Muslims are estimated to have suffered hate crimes at a frequency of 6.0 incidents per 100,000 per year – 10 percent lower than blacks (6.7), 48 percent lower than homosexuals and bisexuals (11.5), and 59 percent lower than Jews (14.8). Americans should keep these numbers in mind whenever Islamists attempt to silence critics by invoking Muslim victimhood.

You're a stupid man. Statistically, half the Muslims you hope immigrate to America, want to do away with the COnstitution and institute Sharia Law. Around 10%-20% support violence against Americans for those who insult Islam. A small percentage are ISIS and will commit more terror attacks here in America. Not really. It shows how damn frustrated people are at establishment pols in both parties who have forced through massive changes in our country with nothing in the way of popular consent.
We don't want massive latin american immigration. Tough, they are determined to allow it. Like Trump said, we are not getting their best, doctors, scientists, engineers,etc. Few would object to that. We are getting illiterate laborers and criminals. In massive numbers, far greater than the great immigration waves of the past.
Islamic immigration is even more contentious because this is a group that is very resistant to assimilation. All the people who cluck and point to the Statue of Liberty forget the part about our country being a melting pot,etc. Most muslims are not coming here to fit in and assimilate but to carve out their own little Saudi Arabia here.
We have the tremendous benefit of seeing how well that has worked out in the UK, France and other countries similar to our own. Why in the world would we ever want to do that?
It's not bigotry to recognize that this was a country built on Christian principles and while they have been severely eroded, we would like to cling to what is left of that. Islam is not compatible with our traditions and way of life. It is a form of repressive government, like communism, which we also made illegal in this country.

Trump has been called everything from a nazi to a fascist to a bigot to a crazed hatemonger, etc, all for suggesting that we enforce our existing immigration laws and impose a pause on muslim immgration after a muslim immigratn perpetrated the worst terrorist incident since 9/11, which was also perpetrated by muslim immigrants.
Ironically, Trumps' supporters are the antithesis of people blindly following the party line. The republican establishment and most of the media are terrified of him precisely because he is independent.

How would that work in reality. Ban all residents of majority Muslim countries? Ban all citizens of majority Muslim countries? Will it also affect transit passengers to 3rd countries? Would it only apply to people seeking immigration legally after landing in US?
What about the so-called moderate Muslim countries like Indonesia and Malaysia?
I think many who favor this don't realize the impact this could have, economically speaking.
