I would agree that turning a 1.2T deficit to a 441B one is good work. However, when your spending programs are pushing out higher spending to the outset of a 10 year mark like some entitlement programs, OR if your projections are off then it's really irrelevant in the end. Additionally, income is a big part of that, and if you've got a recovery going on and tax receipts are rising, you get the benefit of that.
Did Obama actually cut spending? Or was he President during an increase in tax receipts that actually cut the deficit for him? Do you know? I do.
Obama did cut spending by ending the Iraq war and pulling some troops from Afghanistan.He also increased tax receipts by ending some of the Bush tax cuts and having increased tax receipts from turning Bush's 800,000 a month job loss economy to the Obama multi year job growth economy.He also didn't massively increase defense spending like Bush and Reagan did and Trump wants to do.
