Total US Debt Rises Over $18 Trillion; Up 70% Under Barack Obama

but you cant argue about where the spending originated.

Bush tax cuts,Bush medicare drug expansion,Bush Iraq and Afghanistan wars and Bush unfunded nearly doubling the defense budget all originated between 2001 and 2006.They all passed with a Republican President and Republican Speaker of The House.

Tthe Bush tax cuts cost more than the stimulus. While the stimulus was a one time hit some of the Bush tax cuts are still in place and is still costing money

CBO Scoring
The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office has consistently reported that the Bush tax cuts did not pay for themselves and represented a sizable decline in revenue for the Treasury:

  • The CBO estimated in June 2012 that the Bush tax cuts of 2001 (EGTRRA) and 2003 (JGTRRA) added approximately $1.5 trillion total to the debt over the 2002-2011 decade, excluding interest.[2]

  • The CBO estimated in January 2009 that the Bush tax cuts would add approximately $3.0 trillion to the debt over the 2010-2019 decade if fully extended at all income levels, including interest.[3]

Geeeee 1.5 trillion over a decade, vs 900 billion with a stroke of the pen. Also, which one do you think is more stimulative for an economy, when money moves from burecracy (can never spell that fucking word) to burecracy, or when money is in the hands of people? The money in the stimulus had a zero multiplier on it they would have been better driving around in air force 1, and making it rain with dollar bills like floyd mayweather.

Obama himself admitted he was naieve to think there was such a thing as "shovel ready jobs" Also Obama piled on another new entitlement program that is here to stay, and they backdated the cost, so that the heavy expenses come in the last couple years of the last 10, so it looks deficit neutral on a 10 year projection but we all know this will soon be a significant chunk of the budget, like social security and medicare, who thought of those ones again?

When did the deficits start going back down again? when Republicans took control of one of the chambers, i still remember the media calling them heartless bastards over the sequester, and that was a goddamn joke.

Stimulus cost almost as much as the tax cuts, and not a dime went out the door before the economy was already creating jobs, there is no doubt Bush was the worst of all worlds, and i fear Trump will be the same, Tax Cuts plus increase in spending, but there is no denying that when dems control both houses deficits explode. The reason for this is because as a president they want the best of both worlds, if someone sends them a budget with increased spending and lower taxes, its seen as a plus, best of all worlds, everyone wins. You can argue about the fact that Bush was a liberal pussy, who signed off on it, but you cant argue about where the spending originated. The fact of the matter is that the times in history when the deficits and debt have exploded it has almost unilaterally been when dems control both houses.

You are making a ridiculous argument, but if you want to look at it for your own sake, check out which states have the highest debt/GDP like i showed above it is almost universally democrat run states, your argument doesnt have any merit sorry man.

Im pretty sure under Trump the deficits are set to explode, just as they are under an equally cartoonish figure, Trudeau, in Canada, but as a whole its very easy to get the picture if you want to see who spends, by just looking at it on a state by state/province by province level.

It is also very easy to see when you look at where the debt went up the most, based on who controlled both houses.

If all the spending was a result of the democrats between 2007 and 2011,what bills did they pass to cause all that spending? The stimulus was a one time 800 billion.Obamacare cost around 100-120 billion a years(116 billion in 2016).What other spending am I missing that the democrats passed between 2007 and 2011 that added so much to the debt and deficit I am missing?

Obamacre isn't even as much as Bushs defense spending increase. In 2000 Defense spending was 300 billion. In 2006 it was 525 billion.Bushs defense spending increase alone is twice as much as Obamacare and doesn't include all of the other Bush/Republican House spending bills from 2001 -2007 like the tax cuts , wars and medicare drug expansion.

1.5 trillion excluding interest over a decade.Parts of the Bush tax cuts have been in place for nearly 2 decades.Than there is also the wars, medicare drugs and increased defense spending.

The deficits went down due to increased tax revenues from Obama improving the economy,Obama ending some of the Bush tax cuts and pulling out of Iraq and pulling some troops out of Afghanistan.Republicans were against most of that and had little to do with the declining deficit.Republicans wanted more tax cuts, more defense spending and wanted to stay in Iraq.

Im not going to keep going on this argument you arent having an argument in good faith, the last thing i will present, is the state by state debt levels, do you sort of see a pattern here, or maybe its just a coincidence, you have to get 7 states down the list before you hit the first red one, Alaska, then theres a bunch more democrat states, with a couple red ones, as a trader i look for patterns, if i was trading deficits and spending, i sure as hell wouldnt be going long dems on deficit reduction.

State governments and federal governments are different. On the state level Republican Governors and legislators are willing to slash spending on education, healthcare ,the poor etc to pay for tax cuts and balanced budgets. On the federal level Republicans are not willing to make cuts to SS and Medicare while still cutting taxes. They wont make cuts to defense but love to increase defense spending while again cutting taxes.

1.Iran has no nukes so Trump did not inherit a nuclear armed Iran.

Holy crap you people are stupid. Iran has intermediate range missile capability. Iran has nuclear fission capability, and the ability to develop weapons grade nuclear materials. Thus, Iran has nuclear capability.
