Thought for the day............

Hey stoney, you still with us?

I like to think, stoney has gone on to greener pastures, sold his warhol for a stupendous price, and is currently transforming his bush block into a permaculture paradise.

I always like to think the best of people.

Gee, i hate to see what chit chat has become.......a bunch of bumped down threads from up above, all bollocks.

Economy this, election that, happens every election cycle, all these jumped up half wits suddenly decide they have an opinion on something, and it gets bumped DOWN to chit chat?

The best forum on the site??
Great coffee , great recipes, flying rocketmen, what's not to like?

Stock777 is at fault-he always starts go nowhere quasi trading threads in chit chat.

Not that I'm playing the blame game....the blame game, is not a game, I'm going to play.

I won't play, the blame game, nor the playing of the game blame.

...... Ac I'm here. Bruised, battered, scared, curled up in a corner like the last brownie in the box. The pain in my teeth has only grown, I went to the dentist and was very surprised to have no cavities. This of course opens up a plethora of problems and possibilities and web searches that I am choosing not to do at this time. A sinus infection perhaps, I hold my nose and blow my right ear clear about a thousand times a day and more on big down days. I'm basically waking up making the bed and hitting the pipe not good. I used to wait till after 4:00 market close; what's the use of waiting any more? I'd rather not feel all this pain at once. I have not been checking in on this fine thread because when I get my email alert it defaults to Firefox and on Firefox I have lost my password into ET and usually I go and use Safari which takes me to the main boards- which I can't stomach at the moment. To some of these youngin's this is all a big game. To me it is the potential end of the world. I've asked for permission from the wife to buy a gun.

Yup Ac, the bush is looking mighty good at t his point. Especially for someone with two mortgages going now and little if any income coming in... lets see two reverse mortgages and some jingle mail and I could be on my way to Australia. Australia with it's beach bums and shady character hang outs must be holding up pretty well through all of this. I had been in Iceland for a while but that got chilly and a bank failed.

Well the ultimate laugh is on me for I have had that Warhol in my dirty storage bin for so many years and now with a just a hint of desperation I make a move to auction it and it willl happen in December the only problem is.... no one has any money left and all the Hedgies will surly be dumping their Warhols into a descending market. Only me a complete art novice can watch all of this from the sidelines and then pick the absolute top to just miss... indeed the last round of Auctions of modern art went well....

We'll have to see. Please if you are even the slightest bit Asian get back into modern art until the end of the year!!!! Yikes... I'm in that position of all or nothing... I've incurred shipping fees already and we shall have to authenticate and other crap.... that gun I must get it quick.

I have been plowing my weed field down and churning the dirt. These are real weeds and strong ones. From here I hope to start a grass lawn type set up that will lead around the bend and just off the property where I hope to sprinkle some innocent seeds that have first been jump started under the lights... after that it's all mother nature not really me... So the real farming has yet to be done as well as the mini basketball court which I hope to lay.

I am a good eight pounds overweight ,mostly from the booze which numbs the pain. To think I have always planned my life around being able to bring in at least $2K a week. Now I'm lucky if I make that in a month. Less taxes next year i guess that's an upside of all of this. A reversion to old time values perhaps, less mid day $200 lunches that's for sure.

I've managed to get a leg up on the tic situation but only after becoming violently ill myself- yes my boy, my dog and now ME! All got Lyme this summer.... what a fun summer. Next time someone says why don't we fix up a house in the woods near two streams just shoot that person Ok? Better yet use my new GUN!

Hope you are receiving the NY Giant games at your shaded retreat- if not please upgrade your power and video in ability- I haven't seen a damn decent thing on TV lately except the Giants, but I will note DEXTER is starting anew and one of my favorite truly bad actors Jimmy Smits has joined the cast! Can't beat that!

Boy I need this painting to hit Ac!
peace ~ stoney

Oh wait, that was pearl jams "given to fly", i had meant to link this track, that always lifts me up, makes me happy to be alive in spite of great adversity.

There has been a lot of debate, as to the cause of the sub-prime crisis. Maybe, maybe to much debate.

A lot, most of it going nowhere fast.
Capitalist greed gets short shrift, after all, aren't these companies supposed to look after there shareholders? Aren't they?

Me, I'm looking in a different direction.

Kermit the Frog.
Yeah, I said it-Kermit the Frog.

Sneaky little green f**** r.
I know he did it.

Can't be trusted, know what im saying.

Sneaky green f*cker. We know your a fake, kermit-frogs have round cornea's, only toads have weird slit type cornea's.

Right, back to one of my favorite topics, irony.

Humankind, everyone raced to establish the first clear photographs; it wasn't an easy process, with camera shrouds, magnesium flare flashes and hoping the subject stayed still long enough for a decent shot.

100+ years later........some asshole decides, shaky camera footage provides an element of realism, despite overwhelming consumer negativity; they use it in advertisements, in movies, such as the appalling paul greengrass's bourne movie, even worse, its invaded commercial television, to the extent every half witted ass clown with a camera thinks "shaky" to the extent you cant see whats happening at all,

the "handheld" feel of your self running down the street filming some crap with a fucking camera phone, suddenly, is all it takes to make a fucking pilot, and god forbid the series is flailing-shaky camera !!!!!!! Fantastic.

Eye blurring visual camera "ringtones", utter crap television, which might have been passable-but for the epilepsy inducing, vertigo motion sickness of "shaky " realism.

Here's the tip-EVERYBODY FUCKING HATES IT, stop doing it.

If you cant tell a goddamn story, without some star wars style action shaking in a car, , or the ubiquitous mega shaky camera in chase or shootem-up scenes, if you CANT film a dramatic CSI sequence WITHOUT the obvious feel of some asshole hovering around with a camcorder and no tripod, STOP FUCKING DOING IT.

There are anti shake software's now that you wouldn't believe.
Consumers waited there whole damn lives, for such remarkable technology-turning an amateur into a pro, overnight.
So, what do networks do?

Not singling out the CSI franchise, but.......maybe, just maybe, occasionally, you would think, some of these crime scenes-they could, maybe , to supplement there mag lights, turn the effing lights on? No?

Not to mention, the breathless, anticipatory adverts for this crapola......."Who, gets murdered, NEXT?"

"Will they, c-a-t-c-h, the kill-er?" She breathlessly asks, like anyone gives a fuck.
Murder porn, the current mainstay of commercial networks.

Makes me fucking sick, they can get away with this disgusting glorification of -pretend violence, in this instance, not that the gross exploitation of supposedly "real life" drama is much worse, at least it isn't normally advertised in such husky tones.

Commercial television's days are numbered, when the best they can do is pump out pulp crime trash ad-nauseum.

I guess, that, is my thought for the day.

And watch your ass Kermit-were onto you, sneaky green m***ka.

So, I bought a pair of croc's.

There good.....but i lift my toes somewhat when i perambulate around, my friggin nails catch a bit on the foam.
Anyone else get that? Is it just me?

Also bought some orthotic innersoles, will see how they go. They are supposed to correct over pronation, except im fairly sure i under pronate.

How the hell, is the average consumer, supposed to know these things?

Ugh.....well, i guess its evolution, baby.
We are watching you, kermit.

============================================

Remember some years back, there were incidents in Japan about movie scenes inducing epilisey? You never hear about that anymore.

Imo, watching tv is too demanding. It demands all your attention. benefits it offers I can find elswhere.

On a different note.

A dog can lie in the corner, eyes open or closed. The dog is tuned in to all the sounds in the enviroment and sleeps comfortable or lies there content. You can have the tv on, music, kids running around nothing disturbs him yet the one noise that doesn't fit, he lifts his head, ears perk up. The dog make a determination for further sensory perception, investigation or return to his nap.

I do it all. I have the tv on, play music, read, write, get involved in conversation simultaneiously, doesn't faze me a bit.

It has been an issue for some time, but your right, you never hear about it, despite this crap getting worse.

Presumably, networks want people to keep watching, governments want people to have good eyesight, so what gives??

Another topic of much debate as you mention, supposed "multi-tasking"......allegedly, women are better at it.

But, dogs have simpler processes-there binary output is linear.
Is that sound unusual, should i bark? Yes/no

Is food ready? Yes/no.
Is that bitch on heat, are my odds good? Yes/no.

TV, well, you can play music over it.....its possible to speak, have a conversation. Read, write....sure, none of it may faze you.....but i would bet it pisses off someone:D
