nuts should be relegated to a very small portion of your calories. (there is a reason god made them with shells :D

Ok, you eat "small portion" of BEANS because they are very hard and have to cook for 1 hour or more?
Is that why god make beans hard, so you only eat small portion?
:D

you probably didn't see my list:

No, YOU make the crazy argument for nuts in the shell.:D
You think people that eat meat do not understand that vegetable, fruit, nut, legumes are VERY GOOD for you too?

p.s. You only eat small amount of banana because you have to climb the tree to have them?:D

i hope you didn't miss the point that it is much more difficult to overeat nuts and its fat if you must "shell" the fockers first. just like the monkeys need to do :D

Those that place meat at the center of their plate (or even ON it) don't understand much if at all. you sem to be no exception :D

Quote from trendlover:

Do you run away from fat in fish, nuts, coconuts? No. That is why you feel so good. :)

No way!

If I couldnt eat(in moderation) seafood or nuts i`d be a goner. Raw nuts have been one of my fav foods since a youngster. And sushi...well, only cretons dont like sushi. :D

And I think the reason I feel so good is cause my back and knees dont hurt and my belt has run out of loops.

You are wrong. I understand calorie and fat when compare meat/nuts to the vegetable/fruit/legume.
I eat many vegetable and fruit every day, AND meat one or 2 time a week. I do not eat big amount of meat because it make me feel full fast, so I am not hungry. Meat is excellent for iron/energy/fat that I NEED.
I am not fat.

You can move better with less weight, you feel good!
And some fat in your diet give you energy. :)

Sources of vegetable protein

-- soybean products

-- vegetable protein

-- beans and rice

-- whole wheat or artichoke pastas

-- whole grain breads and cereals

-- brown rice, beans

-- legumes

-- dark green leafy vegetables

-- sprouts

-- seeds

-- nuts

WHERES THE BEEF??!!?? :D

Where is the iron and B-12 in these foods?

And there is a debate whether soybeans are good for you or not. :D

KTS, did you forget to read this paragraph? Look for the word

CHICKEN

in it will ya? LOL

"Still, with all due respect to carbohydrates, Carmichael notes that protein is more important than once thought for distance runners because of the role it plays in helping to transport carbohydrates throughout your system. Protein is particularly crucial during your postworkout meal. "Recent evidence shows that adding protein to your high-carbohydrate postworkout meal enables the carbs to move more quickly into the muscles for faster refueling," he says. Carmichael advises a ratio of about 1 part protein to 7 parts carbohydrate, although it's more important simply to strive for a protein-carbohydrate combination than it is to achieve that specific ratio. A postrun meal of rice and chicken (heavier on the rice than the chicken) will get you what you need for a speedy recovery."

SO MUCH FOR BEING A VEGETARIAN!

And this too killthesunshine.

"Carbohydrates, proteins, and fats are tied together and linked to how you perform," says Carmichael.

"But good nutrition isn't about eliminating one type of food or nutrient in exchange for another. All foods have a place on Carmichael's table."

killthesunshine, you see how Lance Armstrong diet is very high carbohydrate ONLY because he is professional athlete?
Subjective.

If you take away all the fat from your diet for the long time, you will not feel good. So be careful and not extreme.:)
