the sooner we get away from BEEF

To prevent premature deaths related to red and processed meats, Dr. Popkin suggested in an interview that people should eat a hamburger only once or twice a week instead of every day, a small steak once a week instead of every other day, and a hot dog every month and a half instead of once a week.

KTS, this means you can eat one burger a week or 2 if you want. You can also eat a small steak once a week and a hot dog once every month and a half. You must be drooling all over the place after hearing this news! :D

Ingredient used in many processed foods recalled

WASHINGTON – A flavoring ingredient used in hundreds of processed foods contains salmonella and is being recalled.

The Food and Drug Administration says a flavor-enhancing ingredient called hydrolyzed vegetable protein manufactured by a Las Vegas company is a common ingredient in many processed foods — including soups, sauces, chilies, stews, hot dogs, gravies, seasoned snack foods, dips and dressings.

All products made with the ingredient since Sept. 17 are being recalled. The FDA said no illnesses or deaths have been reported.

The FDA said Thursday it collected and analyzed samples at the Las Vegas facility and confirmed the presence of a strain of salmonella in the company's processing equipment.

Fireplace is right. This thread is over. The article you posted KTS proves that some beef can be eaten and it won't harm you.

Aren't you missing the point? :D

Their models are only so sensitive but have detected a progressive trend that more beast consumption leads to greater disease and mortality.

Lots is bad, Some is less bad, Less is better, None is best ! :D

you say people can eat some meat without harming the body. If the body isn't being harmed (as you say), then no need to give it up altogether. Some is ok.

Case closed.
