The Fed has no choice but to raise interest rates and crush the market

Interesting. So Ricter says "And yet, gold is not a currency. Not in Reality Land." Yet in the attached video, Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan says exactly the opposite, October 29th of last year.

TETT: Do you think that gold is currently a good investment?

GREENSPAN: Yes... Remember what we're looking at. Gold is a currency. It is still, by all evidence, a premier currency. No fiat currency, including the dollar, can match it.

I know it's tough when we compare the expertise of Ricter against Alan Greenspan, but I'm going to have to go with Greenspan having a bit more weight here.

He's wrong. Thousands agree with me.

I think that we are going to see the fed start off loading some of its multi Trillion dollar balance sheet into this rally in bonds. Right now there is a huge flight to safety, and a huge demand for the U.S. dollar going on, and i think that the federal reserve must realise that this is going to be their only chance to have a market for all of the bonds bought during QE. We have hit the wall with QE. Look out below for the stock market.

What do you guys think?
Why does the Fed have to off load some of its paper on balance sheet?

This. They don't have too, and won't. While the FED insists QE isn't monetization, they painted themselves into a corner with rates, the size of the national debt, and the profound weakness of the economy, in general.

If the FED raises, we get a stock market and economic crash. Debt service payments skyrocket as half the national debt revolves on a 2 year maturity, iirc. The US would effectively default on the national debt. While thats the best course of action for America and the economy, the FED will never let that happen. Very sorry to say.

Dishonesty is a way of life for you...

The wording in the original sentence was a little off, they dont have too, but im assuming they are going too, and the second that they start raising rates its look it below for the stock market.

I have no idea what these cb clowns are going to do but i only know that whatever they do, it will be wrong. Because they make their decisions like a beginning daytrader does in his first few months of trading. Just reacting to events and taking the route that will quell emotions.

Bullard wanted to raise rates, then when the mkt corrected a few percent, he wanted to consider qe4, and now he wants to raise rates again after a mkt rally.

These people are treated like little gods when in fact they are as lost as a goose in a snowstorm.

If the mkt corrects, they print, if it goes up, they guide toward higher rates, and it's the job of the army of $200,000/yr economists at the fed to back them these decisions with mountains of charts and graphs.

Thousands agree that gold is currency. Again, you say he's wrong but his credibility overshadows yours - just a tad.

He's wrong and he's long practiced gold buggery. That interview (televised?) probably had commercial breaks with gold sellers. Mistakes are made by the best and he's admitted making them before. Gold isn't currency, hasn't been for a long time.

I may have misunderstood, but did I hear somebody use "Greenspan" and "credibility" in the same sentence?
