Why not bananas? At least they have the distinction of being food, which is a little closer to a real measure of value than ammunition, for most people, anyway. And bananas, like everything else you mention, could be exchanged for currency with which one could pay their bills and read their account statements--therefore they too are currency.
What was the average hourly wage in the 70's?
It occurs to me bullshit is manure, which is bought and sold. So your bullshit is currency, too!

He knows that they havent he is just trying to be an asshole, there is no point in having a conversation with him about this kind of stuff, because he starts out by making you prove the most absurd things that we all already know to be true.Just curious. Are you attempting to say that wages have gone up as much as the dollar's value has gone down since the 70s?

Only an asshole would start the conversation by attempting to make you prove that wages havent kept up to inflation, it is common knowledge.

TT- you must have the patience of a saint. The trolling by ET's dregs has reached record levels. Feel free to use the ignore function![]()
And occasionally I even find myself agreeing with a point now and then. And yet, gold is not a currency. Not in "reality land".He does this in the attempt to distract from your original point as long as he can. Then, when you undertake his side detours and scavenger hunts and prove those points absurd, he feels he's distracted enough from the OP that the point is no longer relevant to the discussion.
Doesn't bother me. I like to give him all the rope I can and let him hang himself if he chooses to.
dbdistract is the same. He'll make an ambiguous comment in answer to a point you make in an OP...something like "And they wonder why we feel the way we do." He hopes you'll spend time on that worthless comment instead of the main topic - which he can't refute.
