I am extremely wary of reading news from CNBC.
It is one of the worst places to get the news.

It can cause serious mind contamination.
After the mind is contaminated, you have to do deep mind cleansing.

Do note that those people are professional talkers,
not professional day traders.

Read my last 4 words in the post you quoted. I didn’t exactly just act on something a talking head said.

when I was an advisor, I hated when clients watched CNBC and then called me with an idea. But that’s because they didn’t know what to do with the information.

As a source of ideas for further due diligence, there’s nothing wrong with it

Ahhhh, yes and no. I think if you find a company that's cheap enough, with solid fundamentals, reasonable growth, a good story etc, then you put it on a list and wait for a big down day to catch the overshoot to the downside, you'll be ok. It just depends on one's time-frame, but this works well for an ira type account.

I don't follow the stock but there is an obvious support level here and P/E of 4 ? These are the kind of days you buy value and quality on daily drops. The exception is IT which is the only part of the market that is a legit bear. To illustrate, after these big drops in QQQ, the TSX ( Canada's index ) is down 4% ytd. It could drop to the 120s first but if not it will look like a double bottom in hindsight.

I agree. Piezoe has been saying all along its not a one trick pony. I caveat my hunch here with the fact I know very little about this type of stuff, but it sure seems like whatever it is they figured out could be tweeked to other things. They obviously have some pretty good scientists I would think. I'm gonna look at it this weekend more, one of the first things I'll look at and its easy, I'll do it in a bit, insider buys. That would be a very bullish sign.

Agree, however, i think the qualification here, and the lesson learned, is buy long term investments based on fundamentals, BUT the charts should not be ignored when timing the buy.
Also, the lesson i apparently still haven't learned, based on this buy, was never chase a stock up, especially on news. Something i need to work on.

They are in fact, pretty close to applying for approval for a new vaccine that will cover COVID, RSV, and the FLU in one shot. Other things in the pipeline as well

Yeah I was aware of the substantial insider sells over the last 6 months or so. In a way though, they are to be expected. These people worked very hard, came up with a big winner, and no one in the world can ding them for reaping the fruits of their labors.
But that's over now. That's why I think some buys now would be significant, while its been beat down this low.

The earnings contraction of 35%... now that is only based on organic sales of what we know.
They're flush with cash. My guess is they're on the hunt for acquisitions. Plus, we don't truly know what's in the works organically to some extent.

Like I said, I might dig into it this weekend, because this stock could explode up in a blink. But for that to happen, they need a way to change that -35% % above. You can almost bet that is first and foremost in the ceo's mind. And he's not sitting on his hands. That's my guess anyway.
