86% of EV owners have access to a home charger, so its a small minority. I don't know why someone would buy an EV without a home charger. It's like buying a horse and not having a pasture(which coincidentally I've seen people do)

No hurricane travels 600 miles on land and armies generally travel about 20 miles a day when attacking. Maybe if they're super fast and have little resistance, they can get up to 50 miles. The reason being is logistics.
Also I don't care about sustainability. I like Teslas because they're fast as lambos, quiet as kittens and they are incredibly low maintenance. No oil changes, no smog checks or any of that other crap ICE drivers have to deal with.
Have access? You mean to ask to use their neighbors? Maybe early adopters, especially the upppper incomes.
Funny how every Wawa or WalMart (two main EV charge-points in my neck of the woods) are always filled or close to it. Sure many are inside shopping while they "fill up" but if so many homeowners can simply plug in at home why is that the case?
As for horse analogy my guess more owners, here in South Florida anyway, pay someone else to stable and care for them.
Wellington nearby is the so-called Equestrian capital of the world. Been there few times and some have there own 3-5 acre ranchettes. Many "don't want to get their hands dirty" if you know what I mean.
A tesla wall charger is not that much. $450 for a lvl 2 charger and about $500 to install it. You can also charge your tesla from a regular wall socket if need be, but that's very slow.
The reason you're seeing so many people at superchargers is because Tesla gives free supercharging miles when you buy a car. A few months ago they were giving away 10,000 miles so obviously its better to get free electricity than spend money on your own electricity at home.
What a sec (not trying to give you a hard time) but first you say as simple as plugging in at home, now because a freebie is offered why not instead drive to a gas station or supermarket.
Also $500 to install it is best case scenario.
Let me ask you this, why is it that as EV's new (and used) prices have come down, sales growth rates have as well.
The freebies don't last forever so people rush to spend their free superchargers miles if they don't have unlimited supercharging. When I bought in 2021, I only got 1,000 miles and they expired after 6 months. Not sure how long the 10k miles last.
I paid $381 for installation of my level 2 charger.
As far as the last question, Tesla I believe raised their prices because they couldn't meet demand. I know after I bought my Tesla, for about 6-12 months after, I would've been able to sell it for more than I paid for it brand new. Then one day Elon just decided to drop the prices back to 2021 prices probably because they finally had inventory and people weren't on a waitlist. Also sales growth eventually slows down. I mean you can't double your sales growth every year forever. I promise its not slowing down people people are saying they hate their teslas. Vast majority love them like they love their phones.
Not true. A majority of dwellers don't have the option to charge at home, is more accurate.
Most EV buyers can charge at home, and is the reason it makes it abundantly convenient to own an EV. America's suburbia is legendary and the goal of EV manufacturers is to reach them first.
The EV solution for urban dwellers is significantly more complicated, and the easiest solution is public transport.
There are dozens of companies working on a fast charge solution and I expect we will have a production level solution within 5 years. All of this implies tremendous costs to the supply chain, from the battery manufacturers to the car makers to the chargers which need to be retooled to integrate the upgrade. I suspect this is the reason the large manufacturers are delaying their EVs as long as possible, to take advantage of the solution most palatable to the consumers.
Tesla stock price is half of what it was during the early doubling (or whatever) growth phase for a reason. The early adopters have been satisfied.
Of course no one would expect sky-high m/m, y/y growth forever.
